Dishearteningly, my recent visit to this once-enjoyable cafe left me disappointed. The staff's attitude was surprisingly unwelcoming. I was asking the counter lady to place an order for a bagel with cream cheese and fried egg(which is my usual order) but she asked me to check the menu and order.(I wonder why). So after checking the menu and finding in on the menu asked another lady who was available at the counter then for the same and she told me eggs were not available. It wasn’t the unavailability of eggs that bothered me, but rather the apathetic response. And they didn’t even bother to ask us if we would want anything else.
Having driven from Electronic City due to our fondness for the place, we were disheartened by the staff's lack of courtesy. Despite being the only customers, they seemed disinterested and didn't even acknowledge our presence. It's disheartening when a place you once loved falls short on both service and the value they give each customer. We left without even buying our usual brownies and custard bun.
I hope the staff can improve their courtesy, as my previous experiences were nothing short...
Read moreAfter I tasted my first Croissants at New York City, I was wondering if I could get that in India too. Finally I found Old Madras Baking Company to be serving it. I had been planning from a long time to visit and today was the day I could visit.
As I entered, the staff working over there, greeted us very well. There wasn't variety of bakery items we could choose from. They had both veg and non-veg items. I would prefer if they are kept separate and not together. Seating area was neat and tidy. They have normal sized chairs, tables and high stools facing the roadside.
Butter Croissants were soft and it just melted in my mouth. But frankly speaking NYC one was far better. As a first time eater, my wife liked it very much. Chocolate Walnut Brownie was good and the single piece was a surfeit. Chilli and 3 Cheese Puff was also soft and melting. Would have liked veg stuffed puff instead.
Price wise, I felt it was a bit on the higher side. Apart from bakery items, they also have bottled and...
Read moreThird rate establishment. The owners are only fit to bake at home and distribute to relatives. Zero management sense. Why accept and confirm the order at all if you don't have the item in stock rather than waiting till the delivery person comes to suddenly say it's out of stock? And then why inform the swiggy rep that you're going to send the item outside of the platform directly with the swiggy rep but never send it? Why have such a large menu when you bake one piece of each item per day? Downsize your menu to what you can manage. Or actually meet the demand that is in the market. How will you know what is the demand if the people scrolling at home always see "out of stock"?
Moreover the focaccia is barely a focaccia. Thin as hell, impossible to slice, boatloads of butter. This place has gone severely downhill...
