For sheer Anand.
Master blaster of a place. Food was jus too good for words. The place is got variety and a paradise for authentic fish dishes which wl tantalize ur tastebuds. Apart from some very popular dishes from Mangalore and beyond which u don't get to savour in other joints u get it here .Prathiksha Nayak, the brain behind this joint is a person who is a perfect hotelier and showers her attention to her esteemed clients which is of a high order, also recommends or even ensures that the right dish is on the table. It's rare to see such care given at hotels , maybe hoteliers need to take a leaf from her and dole out the same to there customers. Food can be rated superb without a doubt. No wonder that crowds young , old and families come in droves. It's very affordable and quality too is of a very high order. Nayak wl also chip in and give perfect suggestions. At this rate it wl not be long before she starts several branches of The Light house. Wishing her all the best and may she continue to pamper people's tastebuds the same way all along......
Drooling over: Solkadi.......this summer... .
Todays lunch started off with a chilled Solkadi a perfect beginning with the weather soaring beyond.... This drink is popular in Coastal areas like Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa. Made with coconut milk and Kokum. Its a good appetizer and good for digestion. The fiery colour of the drink was appealing. Plumped for a starter and ordered a Mushroom 🍄 Sukka which was crispy on the outer layer and the inside was juicy. Served with mint chutney it was a nice feel. Before ordering main course , ordered neer dosa and appams which was fluffy and nice paired alongside the Veg gassi with veggies like carrot 🥕, beans and the gravy was perfect with a nice aroma it went well with both the neer dosa and appams. Overall...
Read moreA good mid-sized restaurant. A MUST TRY PLACE good food. They serve Mangalore cuisine along with other North Indian dishes also. So you have options here for food. ASK Review A - Ambience - The area is located on main road with lot of other restaurants nearby. Small entrance, stairs leading to first floor open restaurant. You have a small waiting area. Being weekend place was crowded. Needs improvement on crowd management. Since this being a small place to dine out. And they do not take reservations it becomes difficult to manage crowd. This place closes at 3.30pm for lunch. You have the live dosa, appam counter near the waiting area. That looks a little congested. Otherwise dining place is fine. Staff - Staffs were good, looks like owner takes good care of them 😊 Except for one staff who picked up a fight with a customer probably could have been handled better. Because these things could turn off other customers while eating. Staffs were patient even in stress because of crowd. Kitchen - Food was very good. All dishes were served well. Though one or 2 dishes took time but others were on time. Best part i felt was all dishes were mildly salted. Usage of coconut milk enhanced the taste of the dishes. Veg gassi and their ghee roast items must try. In the last don't miss their coconut jelly which is soothing after all the spices you have eaten. But one coconut jelly is good enough for 2 to 3 people. 🤗Few observations & personal feedback. 👑 Customer is king 👑. We can't get away with this fact while we are in the service industry. ❌Please do not serve food in broken bowl or plates. 🍵 Ask the chef to check the food plate before serving. Will note elaborate on that. ❌ Please handle crowd management I know we can't please everyone. But overall...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to The Light House Restaurant on New BEL Road, Bengaluru, I had an excellent dining experience that exceeded my expectations. The restaurant has a warm and inviting ambiance, with both indoor and rooftop seating options. I chose the rooftop section, which had a cozy setup and a pleasant breeze, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal. The interiors were well-designed, and the overall atmosphere was perfect for a casual outing.
For starters, I ordered the Ghee Roast Paneer, which was incredibly flavorful, with a rich and aromatic spice blend. The paneer was perfectly cooked, soft on the inside, and had a nice crisp texture on the outside. Next, I tried their signature Chicken Gassi, a Mangalorean-style curry, which was packed with authentic coastal flavors and paired beautifully with Neer Dosa. The Chicken Biryani was another highlight—fragrant, well-cooked, and generously portioned with tender chicken pieces. To complement the meal, I had a refreshing lime soda, which was the perfect way to balance the spicy flavors.
The service was prompt, and the staff was friendly, making sure I had everything I needed. I also noticed that the restaurant offers live sports screenings, which adds to its lively and engaging vibe. The pricing was reasonable, with the meal for two costing around ₹1,000, which felt worth it for the quality of food and service. The Light House Restaurant left a great impression on me, and I would definitely visit again for its delicious food, great ambiance, and welcoming...
