Gillys Restobar — Restaurant in Bengaluru

If you have finalized this place for your food then please do think again. I have visited to the restaurant tonight for a healthy food and a promising environment. Initially it was all going good until i ordered my starters. It took them approximately 45 mins to serve the same. I was going through my second drink and suddenly the glass broke. The bottom portion broke apart. I definitely blame this on restaurant bad crockery. Manager showed up took responsibility i asked him to not spoil the mood lets just continue. When we ordered our last meal again it took them 45 min to serve. The bill came up i asked them for zomato 1 + 1 which i initially before making the order they didn't took responsibility and told me we have already given you 10 percent discount. Then after a couple of arguments they started talking hard they called bouncers and started blaming me that i had put the glass hard on table. They threatened me that there is cctv camera when i askes them for images of banging glass hard on table they said no its not there. One of service person starting shooting my video. And then at the end zomato coupen was not taken by them by offered a discount. If you are there just make sure you take responsibility of your own because they dont even care about the accident took place in their premises.

This place is a good combination of good service, nice ambiance, and budget friendly good tasting food. We visited the place last Sunday for dinner, the restaurant is easily noticeable from the main road opposite a bus stop. Valet parking service is available. Though the entrance is not appealing but eventually the elevator will open up to a tempting restaurant lobby where you would be greeted at the front desk counter. The restaurant has 2 floors, the roof top on the 5th floor which is smoking zone and fine dining on the 4th floor which has a combination of smoking zone tables at the balcony and sofa seating in the main area of the restaurant. We opted to be seated on the 4th floor since kids are not allowed on the 5th. Street food carnival is on these days at the restaurant and we tried some delicacies to savor. I would recommend coriander pesto fish, bacon wrapped prawns, crispy corn chilly, mustard malai tawa jingha and drunken chicken. Though we also had tried Rim Jim Beef Seek kebab and Delhi royal kulfi but I didnt like it a lot. My daughter had ordered 'Your's Truly' mocktail which she liked a lot, if you are a strawberry fan, you may go for it too..!! Disappointing Experience at Gilly’s Resto Bar, BEL Road

Our recent visit to Gilly’s Resto Bar on BEL Road was nothing short of frustrating. Despite arriving at 11:30 AM and confirming with the staff that the kitchen would be open until 12:30 PM, we were informed—after placing our order—that the kitchen had closed at 12 PM. This lack of clear communication was the first red flag.

To make matters worse, after waiting for half an hour, we were told that one of the dishes we ordered was unavailable. Instead of offering a suitable alternative or a solution, we were forced to reorder the same dish twice due to an arbitrary cover charge. The insistence on settling the bill before even receiving our food added to the overall unpleasant experience.

The atmosphere was equally disappointing. The music selection was outdated—songs from over a decade ago—and did nothing to enhance the ambiance. Given the unprofessional service, lack of organization, and poor hospitality, this visit completely ruined what was supposed to be a great day.

A restaurant that fails to communicate effectively, mismanages orders, and prioritizes rigid policies over customer satisfaction is not one we would recommend. Gilly’s Resto Bar needs to seriously improve its service standards if it hopes to...
