Being a pure vegetarian, I usually feel it is difficult to find a good restaurant which has a good vegetarian menu and great ambiance. If you are one of those proud vegetarians like me, here is the place for you.
Visited the Koramangala branch of tuk tuk thai for our Friday lunch. The restaurant is situated on the second floor and has a passenger elevator that is made of glass and gold.
The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining experience and can cater around 60 vegetarians at once.
Subtle wallpaper and vibrant chairs create a calming atmosphere. The restaurant's aesthetics are simply improved by the wooden hanging lamps.
Everything on the menu, from soups to desserts, has been thoughtfully curated for vegetarians.
We decided to have sushi, raw mango salad and my favourite spring rolls.
First we were served with complimentary drinks, snacks and some sauces/dips. I loved the snacks (not sure what they are called). My friend liked the welcome drink (I didn’t taste it).
First we were served with spring rolls, tbh I have always been of their spring rolls, thin wonton skin wrapped with vegetable glass noodles did taste amazing. The orange chilly dip served with it added a new dimension to the spring rolls.
We got Kimbap Avocado Uramaki on our table in a wooden boat. A sushi with 8 pieces. They had a fresh look with its green and white hue. Personally I don’t like sushi, but it was nice, I liked it.
Then we got the star dish of the day Thai Raw Mango, A Thai green mango salad garnished with fresh ingredients such as apple and water chestnut. Trust me my mouth did water while I wrote this line. A must try dish if you ever visit tuk tuk.
My friends were still hungry so they ordered some dimsums, which looked pink in colour, I didn’t taste any, my friends did, they said it’s good.
The staff is really amazing, they are very kind and friendly, Especially chef Renuka, who is super friendly yet very professional and she makes sure that you have an amazing dining experience.
Had an amazing time here, looking forward to visiting their JP nagar branch for...
Read moreI always like all vegetarian restaurants, especially those which burst myths that there aren’t many options for vegetarian food, and especially international cuisine. Tuk Tuk Thai has been on my “to visit” list for a long time. I was torn between going to the JP Nagar place and Koramangala branch but decided on Koramangala because it is closer for me. Menu offers an excellent variety of soups, salads, dimsums, appetizers rice and noodles and more!
Ambience: cozy and good seats. Not too crowded on a weekday noon.
What I had as soon as I was seated: Complimentary: Green tea and cucumber carrot sticks with a spicy dip. Tea was so soothing!
Chi Chow Dimsum: This has a filling of corn peanuts and water chestnuts. It had some thick black doughy covering. I like the regular white ones. Filling was very light and fluffy. Thai chilli basil noodles: Mixed noodles stir fried with vegetables, kafir lime, garlic, green pepper corn and basil. Good portion size. The vegetables beans and Broccoli could have been cooked further. Beans were quite raw - ish. Otherwise, the dish was piping hot and filling.
Dessert was Apple Berry compote: This was awesome...fried apples with Berry jam and ice cream. I thoroughly enjoyed this. They could have more dessert options.
Service was Top notch...the moment I mentioned about the beans being a bit under cooked..I was offered a replacement, a complimentary dessert which I had to decline because I was already on the Apple Berry compote, a discount...all of which I refused. I was assured of the best food and services next time around.
I got the Som Tom papaya salad as takeaway for dinner, which was spicy, sweet and tangy all in one and which had crushed peanuts in it. This was easy to finish and light on the stomach.
Despite the little blip on the beans, I'd still rate them 5/5 and I'd go back for round two because the overall food and service was really good.
Overall rating 5/5

Read moreThis place is is KHB Colony 5th Block Koramangala. Special nostalgic preference! Place is on second floor and diagonally opposite to Nagarjuna (Andhra restaurant). Finding the place is the only thing to be alert about, the rest of experience is very good. Place is small, but the decor is nicely done. Seating seems a bit cramped when it gets full post 1 pm at lunch time. But the overall feel is very cozy! So if you get place to sit, you are in for a great time! (Tip*: Advance book the table.) Food is all vegetarian menu with great spread and options. They start you off with a mild lemon tea and small plate of crackers n spicy sauce. Don't miss it. Restaurant folks were nice to get one more small plate of crackers, the sauce is just too good to stop at one... Try the chilled Kombucha. It's quite refreshing and one can choose between peach, ginger lemongrass and lychee lemonade options. I personally liked the ginger lemongrass the best! Started off with dimsums , bao (open cottage cheese bao) & raw mango salad. Raw mango salad is in two options regular and spicy... Spicy one is for the ones who can handle extra degree of spice. So a word of caution to go slow. But if you can handle it, its more tastier than the regular version. Try the sushi, fiery Sri Lankan curry with sticky jasmine rice. Lovely options for main course. Nice coconut flavour gives a distinctive taste to the curry and dash of chilly gives the zing. Overall service was very prompt and staff was courteous. Saroj, the owner of the place is a nice person to chat with. Only thing I wish that the place was a bit bigger. Being a popular joint gets crowded very easily. But if you ignore the close by tables and focus on food then you will certainly love the place.
Must visit for a great family dining experience. Highly recommended!
