Total disaster horrible....dont ever go there to eat whose cooks serve armpit hair and hair of his head not once but twice......yesterday we went there for English classic breakfast which does not includes salami mushroom cheese or even hash brown ..we took an add on bacon and salami and we wanted our eggs to be masala omelette cooked thoroughly.......1st serving they forgot to put masala omelette in our plate and gave sunny side up instead ,also the butter was ice cold. When we reported about the wrong order the manager said it will take time so he meant in a way to eat what we have got....we humbly complied with the manager don't want to create any fuss...then while eating bacon which was cold too seems it is not freshly fried I got not one but two armpit hairs ...we reported immediately, they came to take it away .....In next serving I was given the platter with only one bacon and an omelette...this time bacon was freshly fried but when I went for the omlette...I got another small hair probably a scalp hair....I got furious but i was already exhausted at this point and wanted to run.....on reporting they said it never happend before.....I said I came here seeing the rating but now I hardly believe any ratings....I removed the hair part of the omlette and ate the rest cause I was hungry a lot...how many times i would reorder and wait for 10 min again and again .....now talking about the omelette,it was bland, half done as if the cook was in great hurry..not seasoned well..... I could not eat well cause I was about to vomit seeing slimy gluey part coming out each time I cutting through the knife.....I just really wanted to go now....they have us 20 percent discount although but I am internally damaged that day...I would never go for English breakfast for a quite a time i swear..till today I am feeling sick as if something struck into my throat.......I dint eat anything in a whole day.....I am still feeling sick..I should have taken photograph bit I was just thinking to run away from there nothing else....I never expected such thing may happen in such place..... hygiene and cook are an issue in this place...hate it..zero...
Read moreHad strolled in with our friends on a lazy Sunday afternoon, after a really bad experience in some other Cafe in Saltlake. Was amazed with the food they had to offer. Really finger licking good food!
This cafe is situated opposite to the famous Cafe Calcutta 64 in Saltlake. They have indoor as well as outdoor seating! Spacious inside however the outside has just 6-8 people seating occupancy.
We had ordered the below dishes: Virgin Mojito: (5/5) Liked the flavour Virgin Mojito Gandharaj flavour: (2/5) Tasted just like the normal mojito, could not find any gandharaj essence! Spicy Guava Fizz: (4/5) Nothing special Orange Tango: (5/5) Was quite refreshing! Honey Glazed Chicken Wings: (5/5) Loved the taste, I was not super sweet! Just the right amount it needed to be ! Prawn Dynamite: (4/5) Again, tasted just like average ! Fish Cake: (5/5) The fish cake was succulent and crunchy outside at the same time. Chicken Sizzler: (3/5) The taste of the sizzler was really good, just that the chicken was a bit hard. Chicken Ala-Kiev: (4/5) Compared to Oly Pub! Ultimate Pork Platter: (50000/5) Definitely a must try dish ! The platter had sausages, a big pork steak, pork ribs, salami, bacon served with 2 pieces of crispy bread and eggs! One should not miss this! Lamb Shank: (50000/5) Again another must try dish!! The lamb was succulent and melted inside the mouth, it was served with a risotto and curry. The curry was infused with saffron and thyme flavours and was beyond the world good!
Overall very happy with the food ! Kudos to the team !...
Read moreStepping into The Calcutta Bakery Cafe is like stepping into the very heart of Kolkata. From the charming two-story facade, with the cafe nestled on the ground floor, to the thoughtfully designed seating – both indoors and out – the ambiance exudes a warm, inviting spirit. The space is a feast for the senses, a delightful blend of soft music, literary touches, and well-lit interiors punctuated by bookshelves brimming with enticing reads. Photographers, prepare your lenses; this cafe is a visual gem.
The culinary offerings are equally impressive. The signature pork bao is a revelation. The pork, so expertly prepared, was melt-in-your-mouth tender, almost mimicking the delicate texture of chicken. Another standout, the Chicken A La Kiev, is a masterclass in contrasts – the satisfying crispness yielding to a smooth, buttery heart. While the chicken sizzler was flavorful, it didn't quite reach the heights of the other signature dishes.
To complement our meal, we sampled the Kala Katta, a refreshing choice, and the Orange Frappe. As a first-time Orange Frappe drinker, I found the taste profile quite unique, perhaps an acquired taste for some.
Beyond the delectable food, the service was impeccable. The staff were uniformly polite and courteous, enhancing the overall dining experience. And for those inclined, hookah is also available. I, for one, am already planning my return visit to explore their shisha offerings. This cafe is more than just a place to eat; it's an experience...
