The Darjeeling located at Salt Lake sector 1 ,right opposite to DB park . One can walk from cc1 which will take him about 10 minutes to reach here. The restaurant is on the 1st floor ,has indoor as well as outdoor sitting arrangements , although the place is quite small but they have utilised the space very well . Outdoor sitting has fancy lights whereas the indoor is on the cooler side . On this weather it is absolutely impossible for one to opt for the outdoor. Approximately 25 people can be accommodated at a time. Now let's dig into the food which is our main attraction . Honestly they serve very good starters as compared to the mains , and unfortunately they don't have any dessert . Personally I loved their momos and their baby corn . Here is an elaborate review of the dishes I tasted.
We kicked off with
Dragon chicken- boneless chicken stripes coated in flour and then pan fried in a spicy red sauce .
Roasted Chilly pork- Although the pork is one of their signature dish , but I found more of belly portion than of meat , but undoubtedly it had some good flavours
Crispy Chilly baby corn - one of the popular vegetarian starter of all times , baby corn diced and coated in flour batter and then deep fried until turns crispy and crunchy , the sauce poured over it gives it some extra punch.
Chicken steamed momo - medium sized momos very well stuffed with chicken and served with a very spicy sauce , momos were good in taste as well.
Chicken Sweet Corn - Not a great deal , it was simple but full of chicken and sweet corn but lacked the ultimate flavour .
Now the second half begins with the not so wonderful main course in which we had
Mix Chinese Chopsuey - boiled chicken and vegetables are stir fried and then finished with a semi gravy touch . This is then poured over deep fried crunchy noodles , easy to make and healthy as well.
Chicken in oyster Sauce- small portions of chicken tossed in oyster sauce which is a brown coloured sauce made with oyster extracts sugar ,salt , corn starch and sometime vinegar . It goes well with any rice or halka noodle preparation
Chow Chow rice - not something I would go for again , it was a rice preparation which was very watery and bland to taste
Pan fried Noodles- crispy noodles pan fried in a dry sauce .
In a nutshell they need to improve their mains to match up their expectations which they have framed with...

Read moreDine-In service: First order took served in a timely manner, however when ordered again, we kept following up but it was not served even after waiting for half an hour food wasn’t ready to be served. We had to leave as we couldn’t wait any longer as we had to travel far, we asked if the food is ready if could get it packed, but they said order cancelled very rudely. Seems they are not interested serving food to dine-in customers as we observed foods are being packed for online customers. Especially the person in shorts taking orders was very rude, he seems not interested serving us (don’t know why). It was a very very bad experience. Hence, we didn’t bother even to say anything as they seem not interested talking to us, so we paid the money and just walked away. Ill mannered staff to be honest.
Food Quality and Quantity: Basis the pricing done, quantity of the food was not adequate and quality was below average.
Ambience: We were offered to sit on one corner, seating was dirty (seemed not cleaned for ages), observed cockroaches on walls, the menu card was so dirty it was hard to read what was on it.
In my opinion wouldn’t...
