Have been hearing a lot of good things about this cafe which is why I finally managed to make time to drop in at this one a couple of days ago only to realize that this is a #twoyear old brand with #fiveoutlets across the city already - kudos on that part certainly to The Melbourne Cafe..
The interiors & even the exterior of their #Saltlake outlet (near City Centre 1) are nicely done - soothing to the eyes & beautifully planned & executed..
The #FrozenChocolateShake was average - very watery & bland but what mighty impressed me was the #MuttonKeemaSamosa & ##LambLasagne - both were #excellent culinary creations & more importantly, rarely available anywhere these days - can go back again for only those two items itself.. The #ChocolateBrownie was again average - I have tasted far better brownies at a lot of other places..
Now the #important part - what I found to be extremely #disappointing & #unacceptable was the #indifferent & #rude attitude displayed unecessarily by the cafe staff initially - hilariously, I was suddenly told that photography is not allowed when I started clicking pictures of the cafe (which is what i do always when I walk in to any new place for obvious reasons) although mind you - when I asked them why is the same not mentioned anywhere and then, when I handed in my visiting card and introduced my identity as a blogger - suddenly, their whole behaviour took an uturn and they became or atleast tried to be exta caring or gracious enough throughout my stay in the cafe..
I am sorry but that doesn't work well - atleast not with me - why would any cafe treat anyone specially no matter how big or small or how well known that person is - every patron who walks in should be treated with #equalrespect always because one needs to remember in the service industry - customer is the king - I generally don't bad mouth any brand because I always believe in giving second chances but an #incident like this needs to #highlighted which is why I am writing about the same - the staff needs to be sensitised with proper behavioural etiquettes and they should understand that they are not doing anyone a favour by serving anybody - they are getting paid for their service from the brand & the customer is also paying the brand for the food and that same service as well - it's a simple give and take system that needs to be respected and abided by at both ends no matter what - inspite of all that, I will still #recommend this cafe to everyone for just one & the most important reason - they seem to serving #goodfood as per my first and probably my last experience with this cafe..
My humble two cents: #OneVisit atleast (if you haven't already) 🤝

Read moreAs a regular customer of this café, it’s truly disappointing to witness the steady decline in service, especially during late-night hours. What was once a cozy spot for a good cup of coffee has turned into an experience marked by ignorance and unacceptable staff behaviour.
There is a particular staff member working during the midnight shift who not only lacks basic courtesy but also seems utterly uninterested in serving customers. Instead of attending to orders, he’s often found glued to his phone, completely ignoring people standing at the counter.
Even more concerning is his attitude when asked for simple things like an extra cup with your cappuccino—he rudely declines and says it’s “restricted by the owner.” What kind of policy is that? A customer asking for an extra cup isn’t a crime, and there has been no explanation or notice about such restrictions. It feels like the staff member is hiding behind the owner’s name to justify his lack of service.
To add to that, the person doesn’t seem to be a trained barista. The coffee quality has noticeably dropped—it’s inconsistent, sometimes lukewarm, and far from what you’d expect at a café that once had a decent reputation.
I’ve given this place many chances out of habit and hope that it would improve, but sadly, the poor attitude and unprofessional conduct make it harder each time. A café should be welcoming, especially for regulars. If the management truly cares about its customers and reputation, it needs to seriously reconsider who they entrust with the café—especially during...
