Firstly, the Bengali/Kolkatan in me was extremely happy to spot Aminia in the heart of Delhi. Having recently shifted to Delhi, I have already tried it twice & I am sure, I will be visiting very often! It's my perfect answer to my cravings for a Kolkata biryani. Compared to its Kolkata outlets, the Aminia outlet at Kalkaji is much smaller but the food & service is unmatched. I visited this outlet of Amnia, a week and a half back & tried out the following dishes • Chicken Malai Kebab (Strongly Recommended) This was an absolute showstopper, absolutely loved the kebabs. The chicken was tender & it was oh so tasty. Must try! • Mutton Biryani (Strongly Recommended) It was love at first sight, as I could spot aloo (potato) in my biryani after so long. The biryani was just perfect. Tender, succulent, juicy mutton pieces with a good fat to meat ratio, the tender potato & the flavourful rice. Served piping hot from the degh, each & every bite of it was heavenly! And, oh yes!, the quantity, was more than sufficient for two. • Butter Naan (Recommended) Soft & loaded with butter. Can it go wrong? • Chicken Handi (Strongly Recommended) This was lip-smacking to say the least. This worked wonders with the naan & a bite of onion with this, a match made in heaven! • Firni (Recommended) Not a big fan of firni but I guess the meal wouldn't have been complete without it & this was much better than the ones I have had previously. If you are craving for Kolkata Biryani in Delhi, I bet you won't be...
Read moreTucked away in the heart of C R Park, Delhi’s very own slice of Bengal, lies a cosy Kolkata biryani corner that promises more than just food — it offers nostalgia on a plate. With its limited yet well-curated menu, this humble eatery brings the authentic taste of Kolkata’s biryani culture to the capital, and does so with quiet confidence.
Don’t expect an extensive spread here. What you’ll find instead is a focused selection — Mutton Biryani, Chicken Biryani, and the occasional Egg Biryani — each cooked to perfection. The rice is fragrant and light, the meat tender and flavorful, and yes, there’s the signature potato that every true Kolkata biryani lover swears by. The spices are subtle, never overwhelming, letting the ingredients speak for themselves.
And just when you think the meal couldn’t get better, the Firni arrives. Served chilled in traditional clay pots, this creamy dessert, gently flavoured with cardamom and a hint of saffron, is a perfect, nostalgic finale to your meal.
The setting is simple, the seating limited, but that only adds to its charm. The aroma of slow-cooked biryani greets you even before you step in, and the welcoming warmth of the staff makes you feel like you’ve been coming here for years.
In a city that’s always in a rush, this little biryani haven invites you to slow down and savour. Authentic, unpretentious, and full of flavour — it’s a corner of Kolkata you’ll want to return to,...

The menu at Aminia is small and lets you choose anything as per your needs be it North India, Mughlai, Biryani and Rolls. Out of such a small menu, I ordered Pasinda, Chicken Biryani with 1 PC chicken and raita, Chicken Chap, Garlic Naan, and Firni. All the dishes taste well.
Special mention to Chicken Biryani, it was well prepared and cooked to perfection. The biryani was flavourful, very authentic, the aroma was strong and has delectable potato, 1 egg, and 1 chicken piece. The rice was cooked perfectly having the right colour.
The Chicken Chap - The chicken was soft and easily melts in your mouth and tasted well with Garlic Naan.
The delivery was on time and the packaging was nice, making sure that there will be no spill off.
To end the meal, the Firni is there. Firni is very thick and not much in sweetness.
Overall, it's a good place to order food for your...
