One of the Worst Café Experiences in Hauz Khas – Avoid Bistro Lakeview
This was by far one of the worst café experiences I’ve ever had in Hauz Khas. We visited Bistro Lakeview with high expectations, hoping for good food, a relaxing ambiance, and a nice view. Sadly, it failed on every single front.
We ordered Veg Delight Pizza, Penne Pasta, and Chilli Potato. The Veg Delight Pizza was anything but delightful—an absolute disaster. It was overly salty, the toppings were minimal, and the so-called thin crust felt more like a soggy papad. I have no idea what kind of frozen dough they used, but I’ve had better pizza from street vendors. Even Domino’s would taste gourmet compared to this mess.
The Penne Pasta was equally disappointing—bland, tasteless, and served in such a tiny portion that it felt like a scam. There was no seasoning, and it just tasted like undercooked pasta tossed in cheap red sauce.
The Chilli Potato was a total disaster. It was neither crispy nor spicy—just limp fries drenched in red coloring and some soy sauce that had no flavor at all. I honestly can’t understand how a café in Delhi can mess up something as basic as chilli potato.
Ambiance? Another major disappointment. The café felt cramped, poorly lit, and lacked even basic aesthetic appeal. It looked nothing like the photos online. The so-called lake view was barely visible due to overhead railings and added no charm to the place.
And if all that wasn’t enough, the live music was screechy and completely off-putting. It didn’t enhance the vibe—it just made it worse. The café is too small for such loud music, making the whole experience even more uncomfortable.
To top off this horrible experience, we were handed a ₹1700 bill for food that was barely edible and an atmosphere that was more irritating than enjoyable.
Avoid this place at all costs. It’s a scam disguised as a lakeside café. Total waste of money, time,...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting the charming bistro lakeview cafe nestled by the serene lake, and it exceeded all my expectations. The moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the warm and inviting ambience.
The menu offered a delightful culinary journey. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and artfully presented. It's not every day that you find a place that combines gourmet cuisine with such a breathtaking view. Dining by the lake, with the sun setting in the background, was a sensory delight.
But what truly made this experience unforgettable was the unexpected excitement of the Asia Cup final between India and Sri Lanka. The bistro had a large tv screen, and the energy in the room was palpable. As I savored my exquisite meal, I couldn't help but be swept away by the live music that added a perfect touch to the evening.
The icing on the cake, of course, was the thrilling cricket match. The atmosphere was electric, and the camaraderie among fellow patrons made it even more special. Cheering for our respective teams, sharing the joy of each wicket and boundary, created a bond among strangers that was truly heartwarming.
In the end, as India clinched the victory, the cafe erupted in cheers and applause. It was a magical moment, one that I'll cherish forever. This bistro cafe offers not just good food and a beautiful view, but an unforgettable experience that combines fine dining, live music, and the thrill of sports. It's a hidden gem that I can't...
Read moreI visited the same place with my wife after two years, hoping for a safe and familiar experience since our last visit had been great—worthy of a four-star rating. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a complete disappointment. I feel like Hauz Khas, in general, has lost its charm.
It was a Friday afternoon, and we had taken a half-day off—something that’s rare these days. We wanted to visit a known place for a reliable experience, but it ended up being anything but that.
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt dull, with no vibe at all. The food was terrible—shockingly bad. We started with a veg platter and some drinks, thinking it was a safe choice. But even the beer tasted cheap, and the platter was so bad that I don’t even know how to describe it. I hate wasting food, but finishing it felt like a battle.
Still hoping for redemption, we ordered a classic white sauce pasta—usually a foolproof dish. But this, too, was a disaster. At that point, I realized the platter wasn’t an exception. To make matters worse, no one even bothered to ask for feedback.
This is my unfiltered review of a place I once recommended without hesitation. Now, I prefer to shut my eyes rather than...
