Yum Yum Cha is one of the popular asian cuisine cafe in delhi. This open cafe has a very light and peppy vibe to it. It felt to be a very well utilized space and the decor is quite good, you'll surely enjoy your time being here. Coming to the food, it has speciality in dim sums and sushi. Here's our review of the dishes we tried here:
Chicken & Chilli Oil Dimsum
There is a strong flavor of chilli oil that gives this dimsum a punchy touch to it. The chicken tasted really great and this is such a simple and mouth watering dimsum that it's irresistible!
Chilli cheese Dimsum
It's one of their most popular vegetarian dimsums, and we must say it was one of the best tasting as well. The cheese was amazing and chilli oil certainly gave it a great taste.
Spring Roll - vegetarian
We had their vegetables spring roll, the filling was good, the thin coated marinade was also well put, although we felt that they lacked the appropriate portion and wished the quantity was a bit more.
Philly wontons
Wontons are usually fried dumplings and are a bit more casual snacks than steamed ones. Philly wontons are their cream cheese filled version and it was a good accompany starter.
Mochi Ice creams
We also tried their mochi ice creams, which are an authentic dish, consisting of rice cake balls filled with ice cream. We really liked this unusual dish and will recommend you to absolutely give this a try.
Chocolate sesame noodles
This is one of the experimental dishes here with chocolate mud with sweetened sesame noodles. It worked as a proper desert and we really liked this concept !
Sushi roll - crispy cream
Coming to their most popular item on the menu, the sushi, we felt that they serve a real good quality sushi and the flavors and quite authentic as compared to anywhere you might find. The cream cheese sushi had a similar flavor as we already had other fishes with the same cheese, it gave the sushi a bit more balanced taste and the rock and roll sushi, which is one of their most popular was fantastic. The sushi had shrimp and mayo and it was roasted. This was definitely the best sushi we have had, although we are not much fond of sushis.
Our Rating - 8/10
If you really like the asian cuisine from Japan, the authenticity at this place is definitely top notch and we'll surely recommend it to you. You can try some of the unique dishes like wontons, sushi and mochi ice creams. We liked the lovely decor and the...
Read moreYum Yum Cha is a restaurant that has been on our agenda or too long, but somehow or the other, we never got a chance to visit it, until recently, when we finally did - and it was worth the wait. We loved the experience.
Dimsums
Prawn and Curry - which brought Prawn dimsums with yellow curry on the table. An interesting dish to be enjoyed on its own. The वो dimensions on the table were never even looked at.
Chicken and Chilli Oil - this one's addictive. The dimsums are complimented by the chilli oil so well that you can hardly stop at one. It's not very spicy if you think that because of the name - the balance is just right.
Bao
Pork Belly & Jus was the variant we chose for - clearly not the best of the lot, we think. Somehow the pork belly didn't go very well with the bao, which otherwise was super soft and fluffy. Believe our love for crispness in pork belly was to blame - but something to with a crunch would have complimented the soft bao well. Note to self - next time try Crunchy Chicken variant.
Sushi Rolls
Rock n Roll - with rock shrimp tempura providing the crunch and the spicy mayo the kick - this one's not to be missed. Volcano - tuna, scallop, tobiko and spicy mayo - truly a volcano to look at and with the medley of flavors it gives.
You should definitely try the Sizzling Stone Bowls - with quite a lot customization options available - this is a one pot meal and a flavorsome one at that. We settled for the Spicy Basil & Chilli, Chicken and Noodles, and we can't think of a better choice, though a few friends did say Massaman is worth it. Mixed on the table, this meal in itself is everything you will expect for - we do love spicy food, and the particular variant got it just right - the balance of ingredients - noodle, meat and veggies takes it to the next level.
Mochi Ice Cream is something limited to just a couple of restaurants in NCR and this is one of them. We tried the Pink Paan and Matcha Green Tea variant. No doubt, Pink Paan is the best selling item - it is addictive and is a marvelous dessert after that lovely meal.
The service is flawless to say the least - and with the origami all around, the place exudes...
Read moreIt's been few days that I am having pan- Asian food quite a lot. Being a vegetarian I have very little options in this cuisine. So this Sunday, I went to Select city walk. Being a Punjabi I eat a lot of north Indian food at home so whenever I am out I try having different cuisines. So these days I am all into Asian cuisine, I even learned using chopsticks for eating. So I recently visited Yum Yum Cha. It's on the 2nd floor of select city walk mall. I really like the ambiance of the place and they have this cute decor with different stuff made out of origami. They even had a beautiful and colorful umbrella as hangings and chandeliers. Colour themes are very attractive and soothing as well. I was pretty much impressed by this place ambiance and decor. So coming to food. I was excited about it. So they have a vast menu which has Korean and Japanese dishes. The menu had small illustrations in front of the name of the dishes explaining how it's going to look and what dish is all about. It was very helpful for people who had no clue about different authentic Asian dishes. So I and my friend ordered two sizzling stone bowls. I ordered three pepper with mushrooms, onion, chestnuts, chives, and peppers served with noodles. And my friend ordered something in chicken. Taste:- 5/5 Veggies were so good and tasty. Flavour was strong and I just love how the noodles complimented the dish. In starters, we tried their vegetable spring rolls. Taste:- 4/5 . In drinks, we had two fun bottles. Thai orange and kafir lime (RECOMMENDED); and watermelon and mint. Taste:- 4/5 . So we also tried their Mochi Icecream. We ordered mango and rocky road(chocolate) flavor. Icecreams were coated with sticky rice thing. I just love their ice cream, it's a must try if you ever visit this place. Both flavors were an amazing but if you are a chocolate lover then the rocky road is a must.
My all over experience was just amazing. This place is a must visit if you love pan Asian or you want to try something new in Delhi. I am surely going to visit this...
