After a morning visit to the Red Fort, we went into the nearby McDonalds on Chandi Chowk and had a decent lunch. Not normally a fast food restaurant we seek when traveling, it was a nice find after 10 straight days of feasting on delicious veg and non-veg cuisine throughout Rajasthan.
Regardless of how one feels about McDonalds, there is a time and place for it, especially when visiting foreign countries with cuisines that you don't eat regularly. We adore Indian food and eat more than our fair share but even we can only tolerate so much of it before its time for something familiar, this is where McDonald's is a bit of a life saver.
During this lunch stop, we tried the spicy chicken meal that tasted very much like it had been ordered at a McDonalds in Hong Kong. The chicken fillet was actually much larger, a nicer piece of meat though. Fries were standard McDonalds stuff (rating 3.5 of 5).
We also ordered a Veg Burger, mistakenly thinking this would be like a US veg burger - which tastes of a bland generic vegetable taste. We actually found that the veg burger was very much an Indian inspired meal, being heavily spiced in traditional Indian manner. While we thought the taste was nice (3 of 5), this wasn't what we were looking for after so many consecutive Indian meals - our ordering mistake, nothing personal against the food.
All in all, our two lunch sets cost us 330 rupee (US$6), not bad. We'd happily repeat to help break apart too many consecutive Indian meals.
Hint: To avoid making the mistake we did, just note that the Veggie burger is actually an Indian veggie burger, not the generic veggie tasting 'garden' burger you might be familiar with.
Hint: Also, worth noting that beef isn't served in McDonalds at India. However, you can order chicken and fish sandwiches if you want to make sure you are selecting choices that are similar to what you...
Read moreDear McDonald's Team,
I have been a loyal customer of McDonald’s for nearly 15 years and have always appreciated the quality of your food and service. However, I recently witnessed an incident that left me quite disappointed, and I felt compelled to bring it to your attention.
On 22nd July at around 1:45 PM, while I was collecting my order, a customer ahead of me approached the counter again to request ketchup, stating that it had not been included in his tray. The staff member at the counter insisted that she had already provided it and asked him to go back and check. Despite his repeated clarification that there was no ketchup in his tray, both the staff member and her colleague stood by their claim and asked him to return with the tray as proof.
Eventually, the customer returned with his tray to show that the ketchup was indeed missing. Only then did they provide him with what he had requested.
Although this incident did not directly involve me, I felt uncomfortable witnessing how the customer was treated. A simple request could have been handled more courteously and respectfully. It was disheartening to see such a response, especially considering how minor the request was.
I hope you will review this incident and ensure that all team members are reminded of the importance of customer service and treating guests with respect and understanding.
Thank you for taking the time to consider...
Read moreI was was in for a surprise when I found that they not only practice social distancing procedures, and had temperature checks at the entrance along with enhanced cleaning using hand-wash and sanitizers, the contact-free ordering was an icing on the cake or should I say and extra cheese on the burger. The procedure was simple with a QR codes both on the walls as seen in the collage above and also on the table pasted as a sticker. I scanned the code with my Android device. After that I choose from the menu and paid online using GPay. My order was confirmed immediately via this message on the chat app. I also replied with a Hi and got the receipt on my phone. Within a few minutes I got the message saying my order was ready and to collect it from the counter number. ♿ Accessibility Features: Yes=Ramp access. Yes=A wheelchair-accessible Entrance.
