Paranthe Wali Gali, located in the heart of Chandni Chowk, Delhi, is a renowned culinary hotspot celebrated for its diverse and flavorful parathas. This narrow lane is a bustling haven for food enthusiasts, offering a rich variety of stuffed parathas deep-fried in ghee. The eateries here have been operating for generations, some dating back over a century, providing a taste of authentic, traditional recipes [❞] [❞].The street is known for its vibrant atmosphere, with crowds navigating the busy lanes to sample parathas filled with ingredients ranging from classic potato and paneer to more unique options like rabri and dry fruits. Popular establishments include Pt. Kanhaiyalal Durgaprasad Dixit, known for its pure ghee parathas, and Babu Ram Parantha Wale, famous for its robust flavors and traditional accompaniments like aloo-matar sabzi [❞] [❞].Visitors should be prepared for a lively and potentially crowded experience, especially during peak hours. Seating can be limited, often consisting of basic stools or benches, so many people enjoy their meals on the go. Despite the hustle and bustle, the area's charm lies in its casual street-food vibe and the opportunity to savor delicious parathas at affordable prices [❞].For those new to Paranthe Wali Gali, navigating the bustling lane and communicating with vendors is part of the adventure. Most vendors understand basic English, making it easier for non-Hindi speakers to order. It's advisable to arrive with an empty stomach and a willingness to explore the various flavors and aromas that define this iconic food street [❞].

Taste – 5/5 Portions – 5/5 Service – 5/5 Value for money – 5/5 Nothing can beat the joy of having delicious paranthas and this place covers all your parantha cravings to the extreme. Whatever one can think of as a stuffing, those paranthas are being served here since 1875. Friendly staff, great service and pocket friendly prices, this place has got you all covered. I tried: 1. Papad parantha – 5/5 Absolutely loved the crunch of the parantha stuffed with fried papad served with delicious alloo sabzi, tangy achar, spicy mint chutney and sweet banana chutney. The super crunchy papad with the delicious sabzi topped with chutney made a wholesome scrumptious meal that just cant get any better. 2. Rabri parantha – 4/5 Delicious creamy and thick rabri and nuts were stuffed in the parantha and the dough was shaped very similar to a gujiya and each bite of the fried parantha was a true traditional indulgent dessert ready to dig in. It would have reached perfection if was cooked for a little longer but nevertheless it tasted amazing and was absolute worth the try. They serve many varieties, do try for yourself when you visit old delhi for the next time.

Chandni Chowk known for its tradition, glory, fable and mouth-watering food. Parantha wait Gali, these days there are total three paranthas shop are there where one can get almost 50 varieties of paranthas - aloo, gobhi, gur, jaggery, Mirchi, khoya, cashew, okra, tomato and what not. The dingy lane, originally known as Dareeba Khurd, in 1872, a family from Gwalior - Madhya Pradesh settle down here and started selling paranthas along with kaddu and aloo ki sabzi ... Since then it's glory started and how it's consider as legend. In 2019, the owner claim of to be sixth generation of the family -- all three shop claim that it was dere shop who started it first -- but in reality they r cousins -- all three shop same options and cooking method of all three parantha shop is same. During 1900 dere use to be 10-12 shops of paranthas. Although, now, one can get better parantha somewhere else too ... But, now it's all about game and legacy. People come and pay for the legacy these shop earn not for the taste. Although, dey taste unique and varieties and sabzi are nice, even these days but not healthy option for daily eating.

Paranthe Wali Gali is a renowned food street located in the heart of Old Delhi, India. This narrow, bustling lane is a paradise for food lovers, particularly those with a penchant for North Indian cuisine. The name "Paranthe Wali Gali" translates to "the lane of stuffed bread," and it lives up to its reputation with a wide variety of delectable parathas on offer.

The history of Paranthe Wali Gali dates back to the late 19th century when a small eatery, Ghante Wala, started serving parathas. Over the years, more stalls and shops opened, specializing in different types of parathas. Today, it's a maze of tiny restaurants and stalls, each with its unique twist on the classic stuffed bread.

Visitors can choose from an extensive range of parathas, from traditional options like aloo (potato), gobhi (cauliflower), and paneer (cottage cheese) to more exotic ones like kaju (cashew) and badam (almond). The parathas are typically accompanied by a variety of chutneys, pickles, and a spicy potato side dish called sabzi. The parathas are prepared using ghee, which imparts a rich and irresistible flavor.

One of the most famous shops in Paranthe Wali Gali is Pt. Gaya Prasad Shiv Charan, which has been serving parathas for generations. The tradition of deep-frying the parathas in desi ghee continues here, preserving the authentic taste.

Apart from parathas, you can also savor other traditional dishes like rabri, lassi, and jalebi at some of the stalls in the lane. Paranthe Wali Gali is not just a food destination; it's a culinary journey that encapsulates the essence of Old Delhi's culture and heritage.

Visiting Paranthe Wali Gali is like stepping into a time capsule, where the taste and traditions of centuries-old recipes are lovingly preserved. The ambiance, the aroma, and the bustling atmosphere make it a must-visit for anyone exploring the historical and gastronomic treasures of Delhi. It's a place where you can relish the past and savor the flavors of India's rich...
