During my family trip to Delhi from 06-09 January 2025, we had the misfortune of booking two Royal Suite rooms at Hotel Royal Palace, Jama Masjid, for Rs. 3650 per room. The hotel appeared impressive on its website, showcasing luxurious rooms and a welcoming ambiance, but this could not have been further from the truth. Despite pre-booking a week in advance, our rooms were not ready upon arrival. We waited for over an hour to get just one room, and the second room was handed over several hours later. The reception, which looked vibrant online, was dull and unclean, with a stinking doormat at the entrance and unfriendly, unprofessional staff.
When we entered our rooms, we were shocked by the appalling conditions. There were cockroaches on the bed and walls, torn wallpaper, stained bedsheets, moldy bathroom ceilings, and an unbearable stench in the room. The towels provided were filthy, with black stains, and even when replaced, the new ones were no better. The second floor, where our room was located, doubled as a staff area with storage rooms, resulting in constant noise from doors being opened and shut throughout the night, disturbing our sleep.
The reality of this hotel is entirely different from the misleading photos and descriptions on its website. The hospitality was the worst I have ever experienced, and the rooms were in a terrible state of hygiene and maintenance. I strongly urge others not to trust their website and to avoid wasting their money here. Instead, choose a more decent hotel that truly values cleanliness and...
Read moreGot a first hand experience of the popular Delhi cliche "Delhi ke th#g" Booked a room 15 days in advance, and on reaching found out room was allotted to someone else. No service offered to off load on arriving. Promised room the next day (sab ki kasam khaa li reception wale bhaisaab ne), and still was offered a different room the next day (super deluxe room offered instead of suite, which for a family of 4 is way too small). One person even failed to recognise us the next day Also dont go by the swanky pics posted which are definitely from ages ago, to consider the hotel for stay. Recent ambience is not even worth clicking. Rooms did NOT offer a complete view of the Jama masjid as it is blocked by the facade. Not recommended at all if travelling with family and comfort & convenience is your priority PS: Pls note some of the 5 star ratings are given by the hotel owners, reception desk staff, local guides (who probably get...
