The bustling streets of Lajpat Nagar are home to some of Delhi’s most iconic street food, and the legendary Ram Laddoo stalls are a must-visit for anyone looking to savor a unique and flavorful snack. On my recent visit, I indulged in this much-loved delicacy, and here’s my detailed review:
The Setup and Ambience
Ram Laddoo in Lajpat Nagar is quintessential Delhi street food—sold from humble roadside stalls that perfectly capture the charm of the city’s vibrant food culture. While there’s no seating, the experience of standing by the stall and watching your order being freshly prepared is part of the appeal. The area is lively and bustling, which adds to the authentic street food vibe.
The Dish
Ram Laddoo is a simple yet flavorful dish made from deep-fried lentil fritters topped with tangy chutneys, grated radish, and a sprinkle of spices. The combination of textures and flavors makes it a crowd favorite.
Taste and Quality
• Crisp and Fresh: The laddoos were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The fritters had a light and airy texture, with no hint of excessive oiliness. • Tangy Chutney: The star of the dish is the chutney. The sweet-and-sour tamarind chutney combined with spicy green chutney elevated the flavor of the laddoos. The chutneys were fresh and well-balanced. • Grated Radish: The grated radish added a delightful crunch and a sharp bite that perfectly complemented the soft laddoos. • Spices: A sprinkle of black salt and chaat masala tied the flavors together, giving the dish its signature tangy and savory taste.
Service
The service was quick and efficient, despite the crowd gathered around the stall. The vendors are friendly and skilled, preparing each plate with care and attention to detail. Watching them assemble the dish is a treat in itself.
Pricing
One of the best aspects of Ram Laddoo is its affordability. Priced at around ₹50-70 per plate, it’s a budget-friendly snack that offers exceptional value for money.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
• Authentic street food experience. • Fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared laddoos. • Quick service even during busy hours. • Affordable pricing makes it accessible to all.
Cons:
• No seating or dedicated eating area, which may be inconvenient for some. • The area around the stall can get crowded and chaotic, especially during weekends. • Limited options for beverages to accompany the dish.
Conclusion
The Ram Laddoo in Lajpat Nagar is a shining example of why Delhi is hailed as a street food paradise. It’s a simple dish that delivers on all fronts—taste, freshness, and value. While the lack of seating and the crowded environment may be a minor inconvenience, the flavors and authenticity more than make up for it.

Feedback: 1️⃣ Tase lajawab 👌, that makes your day.Shopping at Lajpat Nagar can be quite the task, and when hunger strikes amidst all the bustling, head on here to have the iconic ram laddoo These piping hot laddoos with chutney and mooli hit that spot just right, especially during the winters. This place doles out hot laddoos throughout, and it can get crowded at times, but it's absolutely worth visiting!! They also have other chaat items like aloo tikki and dahi papdi chaat, which are equally good but can't top the laddoos. Read moreThis Ram Laddo Stall is located in very Crowded and Famous Lajpat Nagar 2 Market. This is quite a famous place for their Ram Laddoos. Like their name suggest they are old , famous and specialised in Ram Laddoo . Ram Laddos are basically deep fried pakodas made from Chana Dal (Split Chickpeas ) and Moong Dal (Cleaned Split Green Gram)and served with Mooli(White Raddish) and Green Chutney(Mint Sauce) and Red Chutney ( Red Sweet and Sour Sauce).
This place stays quite in demand. There are lots of people who want to try their Ram Laddoo and you may have to wait for sometime to get your turn to try the delicious laddoos.
Their food quality is very very good and worth the hype. They serve 6 Ram Laddoo in a single plate which is worth Rs. 60, which is totally worth it.
They are so much in Demand that they fry approx 50 plates in one go and it gets finished within 20 minutes.
Apart from it they have lots of food options like South Indian food, Chinese Food, Momos, Burgers, Chaat items like Golgappe, Aloo Tikki and various other items.
Since i have tried only Ramladdoo i cant give feedback for other food items.
They have a good seating arrangement on first floor in case you want to Dine In.
Overall loved the food. service is very prompt too...
