Swine is a perfect restaurant for the rich, famous and regulars. I made a booking for a table on 02 Jul 2022 Saturday through an app, which obviously did not go through. So, I called up the restaurant and the lady who answered the call was cordial enough to inform me that for stags (two men) only the bar side will be available. As I came to the entrance, the restaurant name is visible on the grill from the road with a swine pink highlight. Unassuming to begin with, there is a rostrum with a guard and two ladies in black and white hanging about. I reached at 7:30pm. On asking for a table, they asked me about reservation. I showed her the apps waiting donut to which she informed me that is because its Saturday and they are fully booked from 9pm. Just for experience I went in, crossed the bar area, and sat outside. The outdoor seating is full of greenery. High and low tables, DJ to a side playing western oldies and EDM after the DJ arrives at 9pm. Lights are bright enough. Fans are everywhere. We were offered a high table or a corner low right near the DJ console. The steward came with menu cards which are laminated plastic. The plastic is hazy now. He asked us about water. Asked for a bottle, which was brought promptly with two glasses but no offer to pour was made. Soon after we were asked about our order. We asked for beer and Salmon Sushi which was nice, so I repeated it. While repeating the Sushi, I gave the food order too of Spaghetti and other of Grilled Chicken and told them to serve dinner after the second round of Sushi was done. The moment two Sushi rolls were balance, the order the dinner was brought to the table and shoved in front of us. Due to space constraint, we had to finish the Sushi and the plate was cleared in an instant. The mashed peas with the Chicken were artificial tasting, very powdered, like some colour was added to milk powder. The chicken thigh was well done making it a little tough to slice through and chew. The veggies were sautéed in a hurry to serve us, or they wanted us to taste nature for the way it is. Garlic bread turned hard soon after cooling down and was buttery. True to their name, they were concerned about my health so wanted to butter me well. The Spaghetti with meat tasted better than Chow Mein. The mince was probably freezer to pan and hence the rubbery aftertaste. The Spaghetti was stronger that the iron cables of Manhattan Bridge and gave us a safe feeling. The condensation of very well chilled beer pilsner left the table like a pool and since there were no beer mats / coasters provided so I used my own serviette. After finishing, one sign and the bill was served and swiped. So, I realised the quick service was to get the table back ASAP and hence the service felt like shoving. On me way out I noticed 80% vacancy. Also, I went to the washroom which is where the swans could have lived and swam as a little puddle was beginning under the centre urinal. Room freshener was trying hard to fight the ammonia odour but failed as it had no support of the exhaust or ventilation. While leaving I told the hostess that I am out by 9pm and she gave me the most relieved, biggest smile ever. The generation has descended. Overall, a...
