A Flavorful Journey Through Vietnam and Thailand at Cho Asian Terrace & Cocktail Bar

There's something magical about dining with a view, and Cho Asian Terrace & Cocktail Bar, located on the first floor of Ambawatta One in Mehrauli, delivers just that—breathtaking ambiance paired with exquisite flavors from across Southeast Asia.

Nestled in the heart of Delhi's buzzing culinary scene, Cho offers an immersive experience with its thoughtfully curated menu that celebrates Vietnamese and Thai cuisine.

A Fresh and Flavorful Start

I began my evening with the Salmon & Avocado Salad—a beautifully plated dish featuring marinated cured salmon mixed with Vietnamese herbs and caviar. The combination of buttery avocado and delicate salmon, enhanced by the burst of caviar, set the perfect tone for the meal. Light, refreshing, and full of flavor, this salad was an absolute delight.

Next came the Pickled Vegetable and Herbs Rice Paper Rolls, a staple from Saigon. These translucent parcels were stuffed with house-pickled vegetables and fragrant herbs, served alongside a tangy nuoc cham sauce. Each bite was a perfect balance of crunch, freshness, and zest, making it an ideal appetizer.

The Comfort of a Classic Vietnamese Soup

No Vietnamese meal is complete without a bowl of Chicken Phở, and Cho's version did not disappoint. The rich, aromatic broth, simmered to perfection, was served with rice noodles, tender chicken, and a handful of fresh herbs. Every spoonful was comforting and packed with umami, transporting me straight to the bustling street food stalls of Hanoi.

Delectable Dimsums

For the dimsum selection, I tried two varieties—Chicken Gyoza and Crunchy Chicken Dimsums. The gyoza were pan-seared to golden perfection, with a juicy chicken filling complemented by flavorful herbs and onion. The Crunchy Chicken Dimsums, on the other hand, had an exciting contrast of textures with spring onions and water chestnuts adding a delightful crunch.

Mains That Packed a Punch

Moving on to the mains, I opted for the Fragrant Chili Fried Rice, which had the right amount of spice and a lingering smokiness. Paired with Thai Red Curry, the combination was simply heavenly. The curry was creamy, rich in coconut milk, and brimming with the flavors of Thai herbs, making it an ideal companion for the fragrant fried rice.

A Sweet and Tropical Ending

For dessert, I indulged in two classic Asian delights. The Coconut Ice Cream, made in-house, was infused with jaggery and coconut milk, resulting in a smooth, velvety texture and a naturally sweet taste. But the real showstopper was the Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango—a traditional Thai dessert that perfectly balances the chewy texture of sticky rice with the richness of coconut milk and the freshness of mango. A comforting and indulgent way to end the meal!

Final Thoughts

Cho Asian Terrace & Cocktail Bar isn't just about food—it's an experience. From the thoughtfully crafted menu to the cozy, elegant ambiance with a terrace overlooking the Qutub Minar, everything about this place speaks of quality and authenticity.

Whether you're a fan of Vietnamese delicacies or Thai comfort food, Cho is a must-visit for anyone looking to explore Asian flavors in a chic and vibrant setting.

Would I return? Absolutely. And next time, I might just linger a little longer to soak in the view with a...

Hi Team Cho, it is sad that I am writing this experience today. Before this Cho was one of my top go to places but today it completely spoilt our evening and a friend's farewell dinner. Inspite of booking a table much in advance and the place being pretty empty when we arrived we were told 30 mins AFTER our first order that there are no prawn dishes. Apparently the prawn stock has gone bad and they were not aware. Really!! Then we ordered chicken dishes only to be told that 2/3 were not available. Because there was no chicken. Basically there was no prawn and there was no chicken. We were told there is chicken dimsum and we can order that because that was kept ready to eat. I noticed you have another exact review from a day back. Are your servers so clueless? Anyways the issue here was not as much the lack of dishes as the atttitude of the servers who have no training if this is how they behave. They were grinning at us like we were cracking some joke when we were already riled & annoyed at our waste of time and mood. Add to it there was no apology in their demeanour about the entire farce of a service. The manager did not even bother to come to the table after repeated requests and we had to go look for him. We waited to be served the veg starter and finish our drinks and paid our bill though we should have cancelled our other orders and walked out after your servers unapologetic and could-not-care-less atttitude. If this is what a Cho experience has come down to we are sorry another great place is on it's way to winding down. Zero...

The craving for Vietnamese food was heightened after seeing the glorious menu for the Vietnom event so I planned a visit to Cho in Ambawata, near Mehrauli. The whole complex is full of buzzing fancy restaurants such as Cho, Rooh, Kakapo, Bougie and Miso Sexy. We started with Aperol Spritz and Campari Spritz and Vietnamese cold coffee alongwith starters Pork Gyoza, shrimp mousse on sugarcane skewers which were so tender and it was such a delight to nibble on the juicy sugarcane sticks after eating the shrimp kabab. The Ban Xeoh was a super crunchy crepe filled with prawns which we wrapped in a lettuce leaf to be devoured with some picked radish and 2-3 other condiments and Bun Cha was a patty which had to be wrapped in lettuce leaf with some rice noodles. The chicken with lemongrass was tantalizing our taste buds sitting on a bed of crispy potato fries. The Vietnamese chicken tacos were a revelation wrapped in pandan leaf which gave the dish a medley of textures. The starters had us decently full so we just ordered 2 mains one was the sizzling fish which was served with rice noodles as a base and a Vietnamese chicken curry with a portion of steamed rice, both the dishes were top notch. On the recommendation of Himanshu, our server (special mention to his excellent service and attention) I'm glad we tried the toffee pudding which was a warm slice of date cake with a sticky toffee sauce and vanilla ice cream, it was polished off in seconds 😊. Such a fabulous meal it was, keen to try out a few of the other restaurants in that complex next time 😊
