This is the Edappally branch near Lulu Mall
What you get? All normal south Indian vegetarian food and dishes. A few north Indian dishes are there too but I have never tried.
The premises It is a neat place. There is a dine area on the top floor too. You need to take token for the meals and then grab a seat. If you're visiting in peak time, expect a little delay as the crowd is insane. The ambience is not that great, a lot of chitter chatter. There are many attendants. No air conditioning available. A small wash area.
The food It is of average quality and nothing great. Honestly I prefer Brindavan at Palarivattom. If you are visiting for lunch after 2pm, expect less quantity of side dishes in your meals, like thoran, avial, etc. I liked thwir thoran amd avial. Sambar wasn't great. Semiya Payasam was superb. They have option for matta rice and white rice, but again, if you're late you might have to end up eating whatever is available. The food is fresh and served continuously. They don't serve in sadya style on leaf. There is a timing for that. They have a decent parking space and are easily available from the main road.
The pricing This is probably the best part of this place because it is damn cheap. Worth the food.
Overall I recommend this place to those who don't look for fancy ambience or fancy food. Vegetarian lovers...

Food: 7/10 Customer Care: 2/10 Atmosphere: 2/10 Overall Rating: 4/10
Positives: Food quality is decent, making it a viable option if you're solely focused on having a satisfying vegetarian meal.
Negatives: Poor customer service, with inattentive staff and delayed responses even during non-peak hours. Lackluster atmosphere, which doesn’t provide a comfortable or inviting dining environment.
Feedback for the Hotel: Ambiswamy's would greatly benefit from prioritizing customer service to enhance the overall experience. Despite its prime location, a commitment to customer satisfaction would not only retain existing customers but also enhance the restaurant’s reputation. Refilling requests and attentiveness could be areas for immediate improvement.
Advice for Future Customers: If your focus is purely on having a decent vegetarian meal without expecting much in terms of service or ambiance, Ambiswamy’s may meet your needs. However, for those seeking an inviting atmosphere or attentive customer care, exploring other options might offer a...
Read moreThe food here is simple yet satisfying—perfect for those who prefer a straightforward, no-frills dining experience. The flavors lean towards the milder side, making it an excellent choice if you’re looking for something easy on the palate. We tried the masala dosa and coffee, and both were quite good. The dosa had a nice crispy texture, with a filling that was light and mildly spiced. It’s not the most extraordinary masala dosa you’ll ever have, but it gets the job done if you’re craving something familiar.
The coffee complemented the meal well—rich, aromatic, and served piping hot, exactly as it should be. What stands out about this place is its simplicity; it doesn’t try too hard to impress but delivers decent food at reasonable prices.
I would highly recommend this spot if you’re a vegetarian seeking more options or just want a hassle-free meal. While it’s not a place for adventurous flavors, it’s a dependable choice for comfort food. Overall, it’s a good spot for a casual meal, especially if you’re not in the mood for anything too spicy or elaborate.
