Well well well....this is long over due. I have to start by mentioning, that this resturant introduced me to my one & only bestie in North Goa. Anmol- humble & extremly helpful. A gem of a person.
I had gone to Goa with my dad & we were fed of eating at resturants daily, especially after having such horrible experiences at some well known resturants at Goa. My dad and I were so lucky to visit Anand's at a time when aunty Seema ( the owner) herself prepared such delicious food for us. The taste & the quality of food is outstanding. The bindi & cauliflour vegetables, the chicken cafreal were simply so tasty and mouth watering. Aunty marinated my favourite fish - Chonak and Anmol( her son) himself rava fried it for me..to perfection. Not to forget the chapatis, reminded me of home. I must say, that there is magic in aunty Seemas hands.
Anand's 44 is located at Arpora & can be easily located. The ambience is so homely, clean and above all super friendly. If you are looking for food that taste like your mommy, you must visit Anand's. All the best to you and your family, dear Anmol. Please open a branch in Mumbai too.. Thank you for the lovely experience & yummy food. I am always gonna come over, whenever...
Read moreUnbelievable experience... couldn't ask for anything better. It's a family run restaurant. Every dish is freshly prepared by owner's wife (Seema Aunty).... I have to call her aunty because she cooks like a pure Goan mom. Owner's son (Anmol) was very helpful.... met him for the first time when we had our first lunch in their place and he became our tourist guide over the phone for free, he was always available over the phone whenever we called him for some guidance. Don't know if I was irritating him with so many calls. We ordered whatever sea food we wanted to eat in advance and this guy was making it available the next day without delay. Whatever you order you have to wait for atleast 30 minutes as they cook everything fresh unlike other places. It's a small restaurant with okay ambience and very reasonably priced. This family (Mapsekar) has some kind of magnetic attraction.... they are like a family away from a family 👪 ❤. They treated us like their own family ❤ 😍 How I wish if I can rate them 10...
Read moreSo this place feels more like a home than a business place. If you are expecting a swimming pool, cozy rooms, ambience like a lounge then this is not the place. It's quiet, the rooms are spacious, you get all basic amenities and it's located in a place which feels like a housing colony. Anand uncle is a true delight to talk to, he for sure is a great singer. He would suggest places that you have never seen or experienced before. Well that's the advantage of having local contacts. Someone travelling to Goa with family should check this place for sure. The best part is aunty will cook amazing Maharashtrian food (Dal, Malvani Fish & Prawns Fry with rice - Hands down the best I tasted in Goa), the menu depends on what you want to eat for the day. Nothing is stored, as I said this is not a typical hotel,...
