Geeta Bakery — Restaurant in Goa

Adding a quick review to be more recent to what it is now. I looked at the existing reviews and the picks to decide that 1. The place is small and busy so know (beforehand) what you want as the servers don't have much time. So I selected apple cake, puffs, coconut macroons, banana chips... All based on what people have raved in the existing reviews.

when I was attended, the server was courteous (my experience with all Goans so far 🙏). he was apt so started naming the items. And he said no we don't have apple cake, ... coconut macroons??? He said what macroon. .. and I was stumped and instantly realised that reviewers had listed the name as per their fancy names (now known) and the bakery may not be selling them .. 2... As I hesitated he went "quick. .. don't have time .." so I pointed to the jars and he said "oh cookies" and I said sure, give me a mix bag of all of them so I can try (and rate them 😊). Banana chips - he brought a bag that looked like a professionally printed so I asked if these were made in the bakery and he said no from "Kerala". By now my enthusiasm was sinking. I ended my order with customary veg and egg puffs and paid.

Overall experience good. Food taste - average like any decent bakery that I have shopped (I can understand those who grew up on it will have some memories attached to it and hence the effinity). Over hyped place... Google says oldest bakery in town so we went for an experience.. but seems like they are still in the era of 1930s... digital payment not accepted.. quality of pastry and cookies is sub-standard.. and the staff has no courtesy at all... we reached at 8 45 pm as Google said that shop is open till 9pm... however they almost refused to serve us stating that Google is wrong.. so I asked them to kindly update timings in Google as there might be others who will feel the disappointment.. the reply was shocking as the owner said " Google is nothing... we r here before google".. Non courteous, non accommodating staff... if I cud give a minus star I...
