Jamun, I heard was exceptional in every way dining had to offer. It was on my list for sometime and after they making it to the Conde Nast list - it was definitely “I had to experience” list while in Goa. We visited the place for dinner which came with a lot of expectations. First of all while booking the table - the phone number listed on Google kept on ringing with no answer, so we just walked in and was lucky to get a table. As soon as we walked in, typical to Assagao restaurants, it was nestled in a heritage bungalow and took as back in history. The seating is across all rooms indoors with nicely curated elements and they had an outdoor dining as well which we preferred. Service was good and the dishes were explained well. We ordered Bharwan Gucchi, malai tikka, avocado chat for starters and for main course - it was Biriyani, chicken ghee roast with some naan. For drinks it was Jamun cocktail. We liked bharwan gucchi - it was a nice French fusion with truffle oil. The malai tikka was very dry and didn’t have much malai structure to it. The avocado chat was average. Biriyani again didn’t have the essentials like kewra and rose water which made it more like a pulao than an authentic biriyani. Ghee roast we felt was average as we have had much tastefully infused spices in much smaller joints in Coorg and Kerala. Overall food did not meet our expectations. Another feedback is that the starters and main course was not spaced out as we would expect from a fine dining. As soon as we were done with the starters, the main course arrived and we didn’t have much time to digest the first course. We also couldn’t take many of the dishes pictures to post as the servers were very quick to serve food without allowing us anytime to appreciate neither the food on the plate nor its presentation. They seemed to be in a hurry. But one thing we really liked was the desserts we ordered - jalebi and kulfi which I can say was really very good. Overall - ambience was great, food - not so great on the palate, service could be at the pace of the guests.

I recently dined at Jamun Restaurant, and while it boasts a reputation for premium dining, my experience was far from satisfactory. The biggest disappointment was the extreme pricing, which felt unjustified given the overall quality of the food and ambiance. Let’s start with the food, which is, after all, the heart of any restaurant. Unfortunately, the taste was well below expectations, especially considering the exorbitant prices. The dishes lacked flavor and creativity, falling far short of what one would expect at such a high-end establishment. The presentation was decent, but it couldn’t make up for the bland and unimpressive taste. For the price they charge, you expect to be wowed with every bite, but that simply wasn’t the case. In fact, the food felt like it belonged to a restaurant at half the price. The one redeeming aspect of Jamun Restaurant was its service. The staff was attentive, polite, and professional, making every effort to ensure we were comfortable. Their top-class service was a pleasant surprise and the only reason I didn’t feel completely let down by the experience. The sitting area was just okay. It wasn’t particularly cozy or elegant, and the layout felt a bit ordinary for a restaurant that charges such premium prices. While it wasn’t uncomfortable, it certainly didn’t add to the ambiance or justify the cost. Overall, Jamun Restaurant falls into the category of style over substance. While the service is excellent, the taste of the food and the seating arrangement do not match the sky-high prices. If you’re willing to splurge, there are far better options that deliver a complete dining experience. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend Jamun unless you prioritize service above all else. For me, it was an overpriced and underwhelming experience.

Jamun a chain of Pass Code Hospitality is an Indian restaurant located in the serene village of Assagao, North Goa. It is set in a beautiful Goan bungalow that exudes old-world charm and character. However, parking space at the restaurant is very limited, so it’s recommended to arrive early. The restaurant has a unique aesthetic, with serving plates, glasses, and cutlery made of copper, giving a rustic feel to the dining experience. The staff are well-versed and knowledgeable about their dishes, and can provide suggestions based on the guest's preferences. Jamun's outdoor seating is exquisitely designed, perfect for a romantic dinner or a group outing with friends. The restaurant offers separate dining areas from the bar counter, ensuring that guests can enjoy their meals in peace. There is a big dining courtyard at the rear, which offers both indoor and outdoor seating options. The menu at Jamun offers an array of dishes with authentic Indian flavors. Must-tries include the Goan baked fish fillet, Lamb Seekh Kebab, Mutton curry, Champaran Chicken, Dahi Kebabs, and the Green Prawn starter. Despite being an underrated restaurant, the prices are on the higher side, but the quality of food and service justify the cost. The dining experience at Jamun is worth the expense, as the food is prepared with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. In conclusion, Jamun is a gem of a restaurant tucked away in the village of Assagao. The food, service, and ambiance are all outstanding, making it a must-visit destination for food lovers visiting North Goa.

5 stars to jamun for the incredible veg food, The place was jammed pack and every staff was running and managing the customers and trying to give them the seats. We had done the reservation and Shubham gave us the confirmation for 2.30pm. we were there at 2.40pm and we saw that almost 20 people were waiting in diffrent groups. At that point in time we thought we will have to wait for almost 1 hr but the operational manager and Shubham managed initially an outdoor seating for us where Shubham served us papads and chutneys( which were delicious) and also gave us avacado ,jamun papdi chaat complimentary. Now Papri chaat is my favorite and I must say that I have never eaten such amazing papri chaat before. It was different and I loved it. We also had Jamun Mocktail which had jamun puree with lemon and rocksalt. Again a tasty treat to our tastebuds. Lastly we had our vegetable thali for which we wanted to visit this place. Now this thali took our heart. Sumptuous is the only word. Last gajar ka halwa which was not part of thali(jamun Sorbet was part of thali)but the operational manager said that you can choose any of the dessert listed in the menu and we chose Gajar ka halwa. Again it was very flavourful. ( This is not a paid review) But seriously i couldn't find a single flaw in their food and services despite overly booked. All hands up for Shubham and Operational manager Vishvesh who are managing this place beautifully and undoubtedly unreasonable hospitality is something which is coming in my mind for this kind of services. Keep up the good work guys Love Ankita & Ankit 29th December...
