I had heard good things about this place, especially its atmospheric setting, even though the food was said to be average. It's quite a small establishment, with one room outside, another within, and a final one upstairs. The ambiance is undeniably charming, despite the slightly concerning sturdiness of the wooden staircase leading up.
We were seated on the top floor, which boasts beautiful decor and would be ideal for parties, conferences, or even private functions. Walls adorned with striking plates offer ample seating for three individual families of four, though the corner seats are somewhat cramped and uncomfortable. While the ceiling fan provides decent air circulation, the AC unfortunately fails to keep things cool even at 18°C.
Despite the constant turnover of waiters (three different servers within our 30-minute wait for food!), the staff were genuinely kind and professional. My only regret was not opting for the ground floor seating.
Onto the main event: the food. The Kingfish thali, priced at Rs. 300 per person, arrived on a large, spacious platter. It seemed to prioritize healthy options, something I appreciated, especially the inclusion of roti and cutlet alongside the rice. The rice itself was in moderate quantity, contributing to a balanced meal. The salad was a fresh, welcome starter, but the curry was disappointingly watered-down, and finding the prawns felt like a treasure hunt, yielding only one meager specimen in one of our four plates. The bhaji, sadly, was undercooked and dry, rendering it virtually tasteless, almost like a salt-restricted option. While the clams were surprisingly good, offering a homely touch despite featuring only masala and shells with no actual clam meat, the star of the show was the Shiro, which was absolutely delicious. The Kingfish itself was small but decent, though I felt it was a bit overpriced.
Overall, despite some minor hiccups, the experience was pleasant. The charming ambiance and friendly staff compensated for the shortcomings of the food, which, while not exceptional, offered a decent, if occasionally perplexing, take on local fare. Just don't expect miracles from the AC or the...
Read moreI would give zero stars if i could. The service itself was so bad, we didn't get to experience the food. The guy at the reception wearing green shirt, big eyes, clean shaved/ slight beard was very rude. We had a reservation yet he told us that we had to wait for 45 mins and didn't even spare a look or apologize. When we did get a table we didn't have enough seats, even though we were just 5 of us. Even then he didn't bother helping us out. He left us on our own to find chairs in the resturant. We pathetically waited at different tables to find chairs and still managed to find just three. Then finally a group of young girls decided to finally give up their table for us. Not our place to speak but while the poor girls were finishing their lime soda the same man in light green Polo tshirt rudely told his fellow worker to take money from the young girls who by the way still having their lime soda. At this point we still dint have our pride in place and decided to occupy the table which the girls had left for us. The green Polo tshirt guy then came to clean our table and started cleaning it arrogantly. By this time we decided to leave the restaurant because our stomach was full of ego and arrogance which was served to us by the light green Polo tshirt guy. By the time we left it was around 2.30 pm and we had to find a resturant quickly as it was time for the resturant kitchens to close. Due to time restriction we had to go to goenchem resturant which no doubt was a good experience. However at kutumb i was humiliated infront of my colleagues despite of having a reservatio. The cherry on the cake was the fact that it was my birthday. The cheesecake had melted, we were sweating, couldn't click pictures because our makeup was smudged and my pride was bruised. Thank you kutumbh for the lovely...

Some 4 days ago , me and my son were strolling in the street of Panji and suddenly in the darkness one guy appears and asked to visit the eatery ! My son asked about the chicken , he said , yes , pls come inside. We ordered one chicken thali and and one Fish thali from the Menu. In the Menu , prices mentioned were 150/180 , which we confirmed from your guy before ordering . Ordered. Ate the food, and here comes the Bill, 550/- , almost twice. When asked, the guy showed us the menu , the prices on specific areas were blackened by the marker. One can never notice it unless told. He explained the thali contained some extra items from that of worth 150/- thali. I immediately paid the amount and not argued , since I knEw the intention.
Word of advice to you - You can never go far by these means !! By earning few extra hundreds bucks a day would never make...
