Had to enjoy my favourite cuisine on my birthday and headed to the spot closest to home Pings in Sangolda for dinner with family and close friends. Haddd to order my absolute favourite, Philadelphia Cheese Dumplings (could eat 3 dozen of these 😍). Pings' starters and baos are always fantastic in my opinion, and we loved the Pan Seared Pork Gyoza, Hand pound pork and sugarcane skewers, dynamite shrimp and crispy fried prawn bao. 💯
Thank goodness we had a ton of starters because the mains took over 50 mins to arrive (and only half the order came, in the end, 😑😑). The tall male waiter who took our order didn't write it down and possibly forgot to punch it in. We ordered 3 rice (only 2 came), and 2 portions of Pork Ribs which didn't arrive. After waiting 50 mins, we didn't want to remind them and wait again, so we kept quiet. The table beside mine was also grumbling that their food hadn't come in an hour. The Thai Green Chicken curry was strictly ok. Although we ordered a chicken Thai Green Curry, the dish everywhere else comes with SOME veggies. This one had absolutely nothing - only chicken slices which, was quite strange. The Beef Krapow that my brother threw in the order at last moment, came through and saved the mains.
I somehow always land complimentary dessert at Pings (is it just me, or do you get it too? 😅😅) Not complaining - the flourless cashew cake and coffee caramel custard were as good as the starters were!
I've been to Pings several times before but will only go back if they change the playlist. My God, what a racket it was! 🙉 I told the waiters to turn it down 3 times, but it made no difference. With the Beatles screaming on the speaker, we couldn't hear ourselves speak. Not the kind of vibe or music or volume for a...
Read moreI happened to stumble upon Pings Bia Hoi and boy it was one of the best dine in decision I made during this Goa Trip. It's located in Porvorim, few minutes away from north and south goa, connecting in the centre. This place is so minimalistic and yet has so much to offer. The vibe is quaint and cozy and warm lighting just adds on to the soothing effect. They happen to have live acoustic night that evening ( Happens every Sunday ) which was a good plus point. Coming to Food & Drinks : Da Lat Festival - A Gin based cocktail with a mix of Grapefruit Juice & Aperol dash. Quite Refreshing. Ebi Tempura Sushi - Perfectly rolled Tempura Fried Prawns along with Crab Stick. Spicy Chicken Dimsums - Steamed Dumplings filled with spiced chicken served with various sauces which enhances the taste. Fiery Asian BBQ Chicken - Slightly on the spicier side, grilled chicken served on a bed of onions. The chicken was quite succulent and flavourful. Chicken Nasi Goreng - This goes more on the authentic side with sticky rice cooked with egg, chicken & peanuts. Topped with Sunny Side Up. Mild flavour, served with Chicken Satay and peanut sauce. This was very close to the one I had in Indonesia. Drunken Noodles - The star of the night. You just crave for more and more with every bite. The burst of flavours was just exquisite. Coffee Cream Caramel - The best way to end the meal. The balanced taste of caramel and coffee made the dessert what it is
I highly recommend this place and rare to witness everything 10/10 I will surely visit again whenever I'm...
Read moreI decided to have my birthday dinner at Ping's Bia Hoi (The newest craze in town) & that turned out to be the best decision ever. Living in Ajnuna and having a restricted area of travel. The drive was worth every bit.
Ambience - Extremely relaxed and casual. One of those few beautifully done up places in terms of lighting and vibe.
Service - Service was top notch. John (Server) was extremely sweet, attentive & polite. Karan (Bartender) was very helpful with his suggestions and we loved the beers on tap he suggested us. Sonali & Vijay ( Manager's) were always there smiling and helping us with suggestions for the food and also chatting up with us about the place and the story behind the name. (Go Google Bia Hoi)
Food - Coming to the main part of the night. The food, the reason we drove all that way. It was mind blowing. We ordered the Philly Cheese Dimsum, Pork Char Sui Bao, Angry Beef Salad, Korean Chicken Wings, Sticky Pork Ribs, Thai Curry and Sticky Rice & Dark Chocolate Marquis for dessert. Each and every dish was very well prepared & paired extremely well with our draft beers. Kudos to the chef & his team for the amazing food served during the night. My personal favorites were the Angry Beef Salad, Sticky Pork Ribs, Thai Curry & Pork Char Sui Bao.
Overall I had an amazing birthday dinner and look forward to going back to them for some more amazing food. I've been told they do Sunday Brunches which happen to be really good. Can't wait to check it out. Cheers & Thank you to the team and management of...
