Sai Family Restaurant and Bar, Arpora, Bardez — Restaurant in Goa

Fortunately for them I cant go below 1 star. Its such a shame, a restaurant of a size like this in a prime location is an absolute waste. I not only speak of the quality of food but also the service. I personally wanted to applaud the chef for how could someone screw up the curry so bad, beyond taste! The fish curry was chilli water. No one could screw up as bad even if they tried as hard.

Additionally, no one bothers and gives you deaf ears if you point out these issues. For some reason they seem to be extremely inconsiderate when you speak to them about the food quality and ignore you. I've been travelling to Goa since 1998 but never have I had such a horrifyingly terrible experience with the quality of food even in the smaller and lesser known places as I have had here at Sai. Another great place for fish thali or rice plate as it's called in these parts. Clean and airy; service is friendly and fast. We ordered the fish thali (shrimp koshumbir, radish bhaji, tarli (sardine) curry and fried modso (lemon fish) with salad and tisreo (clams), with the customary mound of rice. Also spicy and refreshing kokum sherbet. The thali is large and filling and fish is excellent. For once, the tisreos had meat, not just shells stuffed with coconut masala you get at other places. The food was very good in terms of taste. I personally didn't enjoy the prawns much, but the chicken dishes and kaju masala were excellent. However, there was a lot of waiting time for the food to be served.

Parking is also a concern — there is very limited space, and it can accommodate only about 4 cars, which can be inconvenient.
