TASTE OF GOA (TOG) — Restaurant in Goa

Visited this cafe/restaurant when out on a stroll through the area. It is situated on a quiet side street and can be tricky to find for the first time visitor. Its almost directly behind Delfino's Supermarket but has to be accessed via a side street. The easiest way to access the place would be to turn into the side street near the Fisherman's Cove restaurant situated on the main road and keep walking until you reach the first crossroads. Take a right turn there and walk for a couple of minutes until you see the place on the right hand side of the road.

It's a very cosy and comfy place with outside seating available. The menu is quite extensive and covers a range of different cuisine. The drinks menu is varied and has plenty on offer.

There's a small, private area to the left of the entrance which can be used to hold private parties for a small group of people. On Friday nights there's Bingo and other games with the proceeds going towards a local charity for stray dogs.

During my stay in Goa, I sat almost every day at the Taste of Goa. Hidden away from the busy main road, it's a nice place to calm down a bit and have good food and drinks. While they serve many kinds of dishes, I only went for the local Goan food, to honor the name of the restaurant. Quality of the food is very good and dishes are always served with a smile.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a family business, but they treated me like family too. This warmth caused me to come back on a daily basis. Especially hostess Avila, who takes her time to help you wherever she can.

Although the place can be a challenge to find, it's worth your while to look it up! Would recommend to anyone staying in the area...

TOG- Taste of Goa - situated in a quaint and peaceful locality within Candolim. Just a walk away from the hustle and bustle of the overhyped restaurants around. This place definitely needs to be known for all the good reasons. The taste of the food, the behaviour of the team and the promptness of the services. They tick all the boxes. The courteous behaviour by Daphen and Avila are an icing on the cake. They have the best chicken wings, beef tongue and the beef steak was to die for. The taste was subtle. I gobbled it much quickly than I would love to admit… When in here, add it to your must...
