Berco's — Restaurant in Gurugram District

Recently I visited @Berco's and I must say it one of the best and authentic Chinese restaurants I've come across. The food was delicious, maintained authentic Chinese flavour.

I was surprised to see the variety of options for both veg and non veg dishes. I appreciate the staff recommended me in the right items based on my taste preferences.

So in appetizers, we ordered Corn pepper salt and Stir fried shredded chicken.

The corns were perfectly crispy. Stir fired shredded chicken was tossed and loaded with red chillies, the hot flavour bursting out in my mouth.

The portion of both items were more than enough for 2.

In main course, we ordered Basil rice with chicken and American chopsuey. Chicken had very well balanced flavors & basil rice was just perfectly complementing it. American chopsuey was served with crispy noodles and and fried egg. It had a sweet and sour flavour contrary to the other spicy items we ordered. It was loved by my husband as he's more inclination towards sweetish food.

In the end we ordered Darsan(Dessert) the noodles were sweet and crispy and it was served with vanilla ice cream.

I would really like to appreciate the courtesy of the staff and the service is quick.

Ordered via zomato using bercos delivery in gurgaon!! Status showed that it would be delivered within an hour of order. Post 1hr checked with Zomato support to check with restaurant for order status. They said it will be delivered within next 20min. We then waited patiently for another 30 min. Post 1.5 hrs again checked with zomato support. Post this I got a direct call from restaurant that order is on the way and will reach within next 15min. I clearly said to the restaurant that I will not accept the order post 20min. from the time I received call from restaurant. He assured me that I will definitely get the order before that. Even after 2hrs I did not get my order delivered. I had to ask zomato to cancel the order as I was in no mood and neither did I have any more patience to get my order. Bercos is a reputed branded restaurant. I really did not expect this from a restaurant. Also that I have noticed over the years the food quality has deteriorated. Just wanted to give an honest review so that the people from gurgaon can take note of it. Hope this feedback helps restaurant to tell the truth the 1st time itself that they cannot deliver it by the said time and that I should turn to some other restaurant for the day. Edit: One thing that I didn't like is the extra Service Charge (10% of the food order) that they levy (I order takeaway). On asking about it, I was offered 2 brownies as a compensation by the staff. After sometime, I was asked to provide them a 5 star rating on both Zomato and Google for the brownies. I think that is needless hassle. A simple request to do the same would have sufficed, but making conditions just doesn't leave a good impression. For Zomato, the staff took my wife's phone and clicked all 5 star reviews. This was topped by him taking a photo of the posted reviews for his seniors to be impressed by. Maybe the seniors can have a look here and respond why they feel the need for online validation at the cost of good in-person customer interaction.

On price front, this restaurant is really expensive when compared to others.

Overall, the food was okay. They made the dishes exactly like we asked them to (less spicy), but the conduct and the general customer dealing should be improved. Politeness of the staff should be complemented by professionalism. Prices should also be a bit moderated. INR 100 for a water bottle is just robbery.
