As a regular customer of Bikanervala for over a decade, I decided to celebrate my daughter's birthday at their buffet restaurant in Kondapur.
Here's my experience: Food: The food items were delicious and everyone enjoyed it. The quality of the food exceeded my expectations.
Service: However, I was disappointed with the service. Despite the presence of plenty of staff members, they took a long time to refill the food items. I also found the staff to be unapproachable and unhelpful when I had questions about the food stalls for pani puri, dahi bhalla, and ice cream. They played very smartly by not keeping the counter of ice cream, pani puri, and dahi bhalla and only served them when asked on the table. This tactic was used to cut down the buffet cost and saved them a few bucks, which made my guests' experience very bad.
Booking and Payment Experience: It's not about the money; it's about what's right or wrong. Initially, I booked for 50 members, but on the event day, I shared the list with Mr. Ravi on WhatsApp for 57 members, which included the photographer. In addition, three guests (two adults and one child wrongly assumed below 5 years) were extra, which I missed in the list. The total headcount made it 60 persons. Out of 60 members, eight people did not turn up for the event, which made the count 52. Four people from the supporting staff (balloon decorators, magician staff) also had dinner, making the count 56. During the event, Mr. Ravi came to me twice to share the headcount, first 57 and then 60. I immediately confronted him about the headcount and opened the list that was earlier shared with him, stating it was around 55-56 as per my list. He replied that he didn't believe in my list and that they had counted the headcount, which was 60. As I was busy with my guests, I said we would sort this out later during the payment since I was maintaining the data and was expecting professionalism from him as a service professional. Before the payment, Mr. Ravi left for the day, informing their staff. During the payment, I confronted the incorrect excessive billing again, as I was 100% sure about the headcount, but their staff mentioned that Ravi Sir said 60, and I had to pay for that, and I could call him the next day to sort this out. They charged me for four extra persons. I called him the next day to inform him about the wrong billing, not expecting a refund, only to inform him (call recording available). He spoke very rudely and blamed me, stating that I could come up with any list after the event, and how could he trust me, and then disconnected the call. This was something that was really unacceptable from the staff of such a reputed restaurant. If it were a per plate system, I could have completely agreed with him that people might have taken extra plates, and I was ready to pay as per the plate count. However, since it was as per the headcount for such a small event, I was expecting some professionalism from Mr. Ravi instead of going this low for some extra amount and not showing any faith in their regular customer's claim. I have spent over a lakh for my daughter's birthday, and I cannot go this low to save Rs. 3000. Again, I am saying it's not about money; it's about right or wrong. I will not recommend anyone to book their...

Read moreBEWARE - DELIBERATELY BLOATED BILLS with AVERAGE FOOD
We visited this place on 05-June-19 for breakfast and came to know that they do not offer a breakfast buffet similar to the Banjara Hills branch. They had a fixed menu with published prices for breakfast items and the menu itself was different from the regular one. We ordered Chhole Bhature, Puri Sabzi and Stuffed Paratha from the fixed menu and were really surprised to see the billed amount. The amount was much higher than the total as per the published rate and when we spoke to the so-called Manager there, we were told that the item rates are quoted high and the same is adjusted against a lump-sum discount down below. This was grossly incorrect and we had to use a calculator to demonstrate to the manager that he was misleading us. He got another arbitrary bill generated right away which again had the same issue of item prices being much higher than published. This time the excuse given was that the items we ordered were not discounted! Wow! All of this happening in a span of 15 mins. We had to shout at the guys (Manager and Cashier) and it was only when we said that we'll file a formal complaint of cheating customers that they agreed to take the bill amount as per the actual, published prices but denied giving me a 3rd, revised bill. On the food front, we had to return the Super Oily Chhole Bhature as the Chhole were almost floating in a sea of oil. The taste was just average and there's nothing special about it. Attaching the screen-shots/pics of the published breakfast menu we were given and the 2 bloated bills that we were expected to pay. The staff and management of this outlet is simply trying to cheat customers in Hitec City as most of us do not bother to verify the billed amounts as we are either traveling to...
