WORST PART: AFTER THE BAD FEEDBACK NO CALL OR EXPLANATION FROM ANYONE! WILLY IS BY FAR THE WORST HOSPITALITY PERSON I MET!
I have been going to this place since I was a kid. Now almost close to 20 years and for 4-5 years we stopped because the food quality had dropped slightly and honestly for the no. of options in the city. Kept ordering from here though on Swiggy on n off but it’s a hit or a miss.
Tried it finally in person in Jan 2025 and loved the food again and Infact have gone once again in end of Jan and sent family to re try after years n loved it.
But this review is ONLY FOR SERVICE. It’s really really bad! I would say one of the worst in hospitality n shocking because this place has so many memories and really nice owners I remember growing up always personally talking to customers.
I today got a take away at 3pm and called WILLY the manager who seemed friendly when we went in Jan to tell him the gravy wasn’t gravy and it was very dry and Infact gave the pictures as proof and said I dint expect this despite calling him and personally telling him to look into the order. BUT HIS TONE, his whole attitude and approach, was just the worst! Awful!! He said he would give gravy “at a charge for delivery through a third party” and when I said no problem then I will get it picked for lunch tomorrow he said “NO I CANT GIVE U THEN, U WONT HAVE CHICKEN TOMORROW” (caps are for his tone and scream) and I was like that makes no sense to me coz I will eat Tom n not tonight as it’s too dry with rice n not what I ordered he just screamed and the TONE, my god!! When I said excuse me you happened to give it wrong he said and literally said “SO IT HAPPENS SOMETIMES WHAT IS THERE”
I just clearly want to bring it to the owners attention and everyone else, this man is the opposite of hospitable!! He is not what Chinese Pavillion was in terms of friendliness or warmth! Omg he is the reason I suggest people stay away from this restaurant and plz go to the other 100 Chinese places with avg food (coz good food shouldn’t “sometimes” can’t be of low standard and awful service). No one deserves to be rattled like me. Infact I lost my cool after his scream and tone and literally gave it off to this man, and hung up on his awful service! Just sad people like him spoil the warmth of this old Chinese place in town!
Pa: check the photo of what was supposed to be a gravy and what he flipped...
Read moreMy favorite Chinese outlet in the city. It is frequented by my friends & family and we have had amazing dishes that were served across to us.
I can safely say that I must have tried almost everything in their menu i.e 100+ dishes since the time they have opened and almost loved all the dishes ( sweet ones I don't like generally)
The first thing that you notice once you reach this place is the ambiance along with subtle lighting , chic interior , slow background music and the staff who immediately greet you and take you to your table.
What to eat : If you are going there for the first time then ask for suggestions from the captain. From the choices of soups to starters to main course to desserts . They are well trained to suggest based on your preference and also make note of any special changes you request them to make. Ex: Spicy , non -spicy, change the sauce to a diff one, crisp noodles etc
My suggestions : Barbecue wings - Yet to find any outlet that can match the taste that they provide here. Chicken wings are cooked in a barbecue sauce and served pipping hot. This dish takes time to make but it is worth the wait.
If you love Spicy food then you must try their spicy chicken dry red chilli , it is one of the tastiest dishes and it can add a nice flavor to an accompanying dish. The usually order this with an egg fried rice and then go in for a gravy dish as well.
Fukchuk rice is an amazing dish where the veg/non-veg gravy is on the top of the rice. It is mixed and served across to you.
Bamboo rice - As the name suggests it is served across in a bamboo. Different taste and different style altogether.
Desserts :
Chocolate volcano with Choice of ice cream - Name itself is quite appealing and the taste is just amazing. Hot chocolate and cold icecream combination is just right.
Honey noodles - flat noodles served along with choice of ice cream is another dish that you can try.
Chocolate mousse - One of the few places where I like this . Well made and the taste is just amazing.
Overall: From birthday's to anniversaries to office parties - we have had some good food...
Read moreWent to Chinese Pavilion with high hopes but was sadly disappointed !!! I certainly will not recommend it to anyone!
Located in Banjara Hills opposite Vengal Rao Park you will miss it if you don't slow down at the end of the fly over .
The ambience is good and the food is reasonably priced. The staff is cheerful. We were seated and served promptly.
All went well till we ordered a second round of Chicken American Chop Suey. To our horror and utter dismay,we found a tiny COCKROACH in the portion served to us!!!
When we complained to the manager, he nonchalantly took away the plate apologizing and walking off like it was a very common thing. I really wonder how the reputed and very popular TIMES of INDIA Group can award Chinese Pavilion with the "Times Food Award(2016,2017)" for 2 consecutive years. The credibility of these awards is highly questionable after our bad experience!
We had children dining with us and we were very concerned about their health after eating sub-standard food cooked in unhygienic conditions!
Our request to speak to the owner was turned down. The Manager offered to cancel the entire bill.
We were made to wait for 20 long minutes after which a bill was predictably given without mentioning our order for the Chop Sueys! We paid up anyway since we don't believe in freebies!
We left feeling disheartened ! I hope that the management realizes it's unacceptable mistake and necessary remedial measures are...
