Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of visiting Dadu's Sweets in Kukatpally Housing Board, and I must say, it was an experience worth sharing. As expected on a weekend, the place was bustling with people, but the vibrant energy added to the charm of this well-known sweet haven. Dadu's Sweets offers an extensive range of traditional and innovative Indian sweets. Here are five of their most popular offerings that you shouldn't miss: Kaju Katli: Perfectly balanced with a smooth, melt-in-the-mouth texture. Motichoor Ladoo:A classic favorite, bursting with flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. Rasgulla: Soft and spongy, these are a treat for anyone with a love for syrupy delights. Badam Burfi: Rich with the goodness of almonds, it's a delightful combination of taste and nutrition. Kalakand: A creamy and dense milk-based sweet that’s simply irresistible.
Popular Chaats at the Counter Apart from sweets, Dadu's also has a live chat counter that is incredibly popular among the visitors. Here are three must-try chats: Pani Puri: Crispy puris filled with tangy tamarind water and spicy mashed potatoes, offering a burst of flavors with every bite. Dahi Puri: A cooling mix of curd, chutneys, and spices over crispy puris, providing a sweet and tangy delight. Raj Kachori: A crunchy, stuffed kachori topped with a medley of chutneys, yogurt, and sev, making it a perfect blend of textures and tastes. Dadu's is not just about sweets and snacks; it also provides a comfortable and clean seating area where you can enjoy your food at leisure. Despite the crowd, the service was quick and efficient, with the friendly staff ensuring that every customer felt welcome. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot for families and groups of friends to enjoy a relaxed meal.

Dadu’s, in Hyderabad’s culinary lexicon, is not merely a sweet shop; it is a venerable institution, a standard-bearer of mithai kalakari built on the buttery perfection of its signature offerings most famously, the Motichoor Laddu. To approach the new outpost at PNR Empire in Kukatpally is to arrive with a specific, high-octane expectation of tradition and quality. Unfortunately, this visit felt less like a celebration and more like a quiet eulogy for consistency. The store, clean and modern as expected, offers a genuinely commendable variety. One cannot fault the sheer breadth of the selection; the counters shimmered with everything from classic North Indian burfis and kaju rolls to regional South Indian delicacies like Bellam Bobbatlu and Pootharekulu. There are indeed a few glorious exceptions that manage to shine dishes like the Badam Butterscotch Rocher, a brave, modern fusion that held up its end of the bargain, suggesting that innovation is still alive in the Dadu’s kitchens.Yet, a sweet shop lives and dies by its staples, and here is where the Kukatpally branch stumbled fatally. The legendary melt-in-the-mouth texture of the signature Motichoor Laddu, crafted from pure ghee, was frustratingly absent. What arrived was competent, perhaps, but lacked the moist, aromatic finesse that defines the gold standard. The milk-based sweets, often the most vulnerable to inconsistency, felt dry a sacrifice of freshness made, perhaps, in the name of volume. The fundamental issue is simple: This does not taste like Dadus. When a brand has spent decades building a reputation for excellence, any deviation from that baseline is jarring. The sweets were good, certainly better than average, but they failed to hit that crucial, defining Dadu's mark. They were missing that rich, unmistakable quality of ghee and the perfect sweetness that justifies the premium price tag. The experience felt like an imitation—a cover band playing a classic hit with all the right notes, but none of the soul. For the vast range of offerings and the presence of a few standout signature items, I can begrudgingly award a portion of the score. However, for failing to uphold the fundamental legacy of its name, the final rating settles at a disappointing 2.5 out of 5. There is a need for quality control to bridge the gap between reputation and execution before this branch becomes a...
Read moreFrustrating experience I had at DADUs Kukatpally store on the occasion of Rakhi.
I purchased three half-kilo boxes of sweets, which were intended for three different families. After paying for all the items on a single bill, I requested a separate carry bag for each box. I was surprised when your team, including the manager, refused this simple request, citing a "company policy" on bulk orders.
The situation became even more concerning when an alternative was suggested: a bag that would force the sweet boxes to be carried vertically. When I pointed out that this would ruin the shape of delicate sweets like motichur laddu, your team had no answer and seemed unwilling to listen.
After a lengthy and unnecessary argument with three different people, I was finally given the bags. The entire process was frustrating and ruined what should have been a seamless and pleasant experience. It highlights a lack of common sense and employee empowerment to resolve a minor issue that involved items costing only a couple of rupees.
While I understand there may be a policy for bulk orders meant for a single event, it's not logical for situations where sweets are being distributed to separate families. I hope you will re-evaluate this policy and empower your employees to make better decisions that prioritize...
