I did not study here but know the pros and cons of this university very well. Being worked for one of the worlds top 20 universities, I can write the review of JNTUH in following aspects.
Campus infrastructure and Location: Located in excellent location and infrastructure and labs are good as far as I know. Being the old university, by default university much funding from Government.
Faculty: The quality of faculty is getting down and down as the time passing. Previously it used to fill up with PhDs from IITs and at-least NITs. But now all the faculty got degrees from the same department which is a negative point as it wont introduce any change in the teaching or research style. Faculty mostly limited to teaching and the quality of research work and the publication is literally very poor.
Syllabus: As far as I observe they have good curriculum and they change it regularly but the don't teach the same very well.
Exam paper correction: This is one of the worst quality of JNTUH. Many students were severely suffered with worst correction. I don't understand whether they are correcting the papers or not. And I am really in doubt whether the papers are corrected by the people having minimum knowledge of the subject. If a student fails in one subject, mostly he never pass in next 3-4 attempts. Even the student answers all the questions they just give less than 10 marks. God knows what they want to do with students life. I suggest JNTU follow open correction system and return the answer scripts (at least soft copies) back to students.
Affiliated colleges: JNTUH is notorious in giving affiliation status to many private colleges without checking whether the college has minimum facilities. The faculty (except some) in private colleges are just border pass Btech and Mtech. They themselves struggled a lot to pass their degrees, and god knows how they can teach the students. And these poor people (so-called engineering faculty) go for the correction ..... resulting worst correction. Even the non-teaching staff don't know what the rules and regulations given by JNTUH and they cant even guide the students...

Read moreWorst, unethical and illegal activity can be seen in this University. There are many idiotic people at the top who spoiled many students as well employees lives and are corrupted. They give ratified certificates to colleges. If a teacher is ratified, they dont give result or certficate to the teacher instead they give it to college which opted for ratification as the college applied for it. Even if the college applied, the teacher should get the certificate if he pays money to the corresponding college which applied on behalf. But this does not happen and the teacher never knows any information about his certificate. The colleges also keep those certificates even if the teacher quits the job. This shows that they use the certificate to fake NBA and NAAC and get fundings and accredited status. There is a lot of illegal activity going around in the university and its affiliated colleges. I heard that the final panel faculty that come for Mtech projects are mostly corrupt or partial to certain colleges. This is really spoiling students hardwork and character. Paper corrections is a joke in the autonomous colleges affiliated to this University. There are numerous situations where illegal activities were caught in this University. So my final suggestion is don't spoil yourself opting to study in this University. I think it deserves negative stars for being illegal and pathetic. But google doesnt allow it....
