I recently visited your Kothapet location with my family for lunch and had the opportunity to experience your service and food.
Ambiance and Welcoming - I called in to reserve a table, but was informed that we could walk in. The restaurant is located two levels up from the ground and there was a line for the lift. We took the stairs and there was no sign or board when we reached the floor. We walked into a closed place with doors on both sides and moved towards the left side to open the door and found a sign for the restaurant. The restaurant has a lot of attention to detail in the ambiance, seating, and overall feel of the place. The place was almost empty when we arrived and we were shown a table to sit. We asked for a table towards the corner so that it would be easy to restrict our children from being a nuisance to other diners, but were told that these tables are reserved for people who have reserved a table. I explained that I had called to reserve a table and was told that it was not required. The associate was still hesitant to assign us the table of our choice, so we decided to sit. However, soon after we settled in, another associate came to us and informed us that we could sit at the table of our choice. We did not move since most of us had already left the table to explore the place and food, and the children seemed to be comfortable where they were.
Food - The welcome drink was not customizable, but it was delicious and the kids loved it. There were about 2-3 different types of salads on offer, including sprouts and fruits. So there was something for everyone. We were informed that our choice of appetizers would be served to the table, and we were able to request that the spice be mild for the kids.
Starters - I have heard great things about the starters and service, but I was disappointed with both. There were an equal number of options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The serving speed was very slow. The food itself was also not up to par. The paneer was not cooked to my liking, and the mushroom was never served even after multiple requests. The crispy corn was dry, and the cheesy potato was below average. The prawns were salty and dry, and the grilled chicken was hit or miss. The starters for the kids were never served after the first round. The kids were disappointed, and so were we. After a while, we didn't even know who was serving our table. We had to look out for help every time we needed something. The fish was not my favorite, so I can't comment on it. However, the sweet chilly wings and mutton seekh kabab were very good. I was disappointed that there was no wish grill or live counter for starters. This would have been a great way to overcome the poor service to the table. It took ages to pass our likes and wishes to the person who was assigned to our table, and he was non-existent after a while.
Live Counter -They have a wide variety of food options, including street food, pasta, pizza, and dim sum. However, I did try the live pasta and pizza counter. The kids didn't approve of the pasta and pizza after tasting them, but I thought they were pretty good. I also tried the non-veg dim sum, and I found it to be too dry.
Main Dishes - I was really disappointed with the appetizers. None of them seemed appealing and they didn't taste like they were made with fresh ingredients. The main course wasn't too different from any other buffet in the city. I think we were just too full by the time we got to the main course, but I was expecting something a little more unique.
Desserts - We barely had room in our stomachs for dessert, but we decided to try a few things anyway. Freshly made jilebi and cold stone icecream are a big plus. I know some people like their desserts really sweet, so this may not be a problem for you. But if you're like me and prefer your desserts to be a little less sweet, I would recommend skipping the desserts.
Overall- The price is over 900 Rs, and I don't think it is worth it. The food was average and regular, and the service was not very...
Read moreAmbience - very good. Lighting is good with contemporary look. Color combinations make you feel comfortable and easy on eyes. Staff - extremely polite, friendly and helpful. I guess Barbeque Nation has set this motion on and others are also mastering well. The guys are good - Aleem (Desserts), Ali (Manager), and Govinda (not the film star :) the one who helped us with service) are highlights of our visit. However, others are also of their best in helping guests. They dressed neat and tidy uniforms. Chef Narayan was delightful with rounded moustache and offered alternatives whenever we needed. Thanks, guys Food - Quality, Quantity and Value. We found taste is better when compared with similar places (especially AB, Barbeque Nation, House of Barbeque etc). I am only comparing from my experience but intend to say they are NOT good. Each place offers different styles of tastes. Theme - it is Asian/Mediterranean. It caters to all palates - Indian, Italian, Asian, Thai and other regions. I am sure one how visits certainly feel that they dont miss Food. Pricing - little lesser than other similar theme outlets. We found a beautiful discount on EaseyDiner app. Check this out. Service charge is part of billing. Not required to Tip. I guess they dont even solicit or accept. Parking - I am not sure as we parked ourselves away from those narrow, dense and busy Valet facilities. I suggest same for you all to take few steps either way - good...
Read moreTotally not worth it. All dishes(mutton, fish, prawns, paneer) except chicken were made from substandard ingredients. The cooking/taste was also not proper. It looked either burnt or undercooked. The masalas tasted cheap.
Sushi was frozen. It was served without the seaweed rolling paper. The pasta/pizza/chat counter was so bad, none of the customers even dared to go there.
In main course, noodles were burnt. Mutton curry didn't have any gosht. Mutton shorba tasted like Chinese soup and there was a hair in it. Paneer was weird and rubbery, most likely made from vegetable oil and not milk. Butter naan was wafer thin and was actually oil naan since no butter was used.
In desserts pastries were dry, jalebis burnt, ice cream looked like it's a cheap local brand.
I have had several buffefs over the years but this is the worst of the worst.
Also, the staff can't event speak Hindi or telugu or English properly. They converse amongst themselves in bangla/odia loudly and are always checking their phones, ignoring customers.
The same building has another barbeque buffet place which costs the same. Should've gone there. In the name of cost cutting, Flechazo is a...
