TELANGANA BLISS!💙
Midst the noisy neighborhood in jubilee hills, you'll find a calm and composed place to tinkle your taste buds with one of the finest Telangana cuisine offered in Hyderabad. Telangana Spice Kitchen has my whole heart. Heard alot about the cuisine and the place, finally got the chance to visit this place.
Ambience- Unlike what I expected, actually better than my expectations. TSK offers varied seating according to your preferences. Indoors are so beautifully done with walls replaced by glasses. A see-through view while dining is what made me fall for this place (food too(obviously!😹)). Outdoor seating are chic and the view!💙. What caught my attention were the wall frames with puns on it, those were hilarious! The place is huge and has bar counter too.
Food- let's talk about life(food), shall we?!
Starters- •Paneer Kurkure: Crisp from the outside with stuffed pickle this dish was my personal favourite starter. Paneer was perfectly balancing the tangy and sour flavour of pickle. Recommended!💯
•Karimnagar Fried wings: Wings never tasted this desi. I love the Indian touch which was given to the tender and well marinated chicken pieces. Recommended!
•Garelu with Country Chicken: Garelu is Wada. Wada and country chicken curry paired up is a pure bliss. I loved the curry but it was too oily. They can go a lil easy on the oil.
•Veg Spring Roll: Crispy on the outside and super stuffing inside makes a perfect spring roll. Surprisingly, the vegetarian starters were top notch.
•Koramenu fry with yellipaya karam: felt like the fish was bland inside but the coating was delicious so it was killing the blandness of the fish inside. Well cooked!💯
Main Course- Comfy food! •Mudda Pappu pachi pulusu: Sheer Bliss! After having so much of oil I had this and I was teleported to home is what I felt. Soul food indeed!💙
•Dalcha Mutton with bagara rice: The flavorful rice alone was good but when paired with dalcha mutton it did wonders! The gravy was rich in flavours and mutton was so very well infused with flavours.👌
•Pulihora with country chicken: Sounded a weird combination to me. The flavours were.. umm weird 😅.. maybe not meant for my palate.
•Chicken Biryani: I ADORE CHICKEN BIRYANI! The biryani here was excellent! My only problem was with the amount of Salt. Biryani was too salty, even after adding raita the biryani was salty. But I'm sure this can be looked upon. Even after being salty, biryani tasted really good 👌
Desserts- •Chocolate mud Crumble with Ice Cream: Heaven this was! We ended up ordering it twice! A blast of vanilla and chocolate in your mouth. Sheer delight! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!💙
•Kaddu ki kheer: Very subtle and delicate flavours. Not too sweet, just the way I like it!
•Gajar ka halwa: This actually tasted decent, nothing incredible but nothing bad too.
•Qubani ka meetha with Ice Cream: Qubani ka meetha is usually served with cream but they choose to pair it with vanilla ice cream which turned out to be amazing. Liked the way how the ice cream complimented the sweet dish.
Service- Quick, attentive and humble! They give correct recommendations. So if you're stuck as to what to order, reach...
Read moreWhile Hyderabad is known for its Biryani, there is a lot more than the Telangana capital has to provide. The cuisine of Telangana in itself is a wonderful amalgamation of flavours and last week I was here to experience the same. Telangana Spice Kitchen, located in Jubilee Hills has surely got some wonderful vibes along with a great ambiance. I was here during Ganesh Chaturthi, so one side of the open area was all decked up. They have multiple seating options from indoors to outdoors and terrace, we were seated in the outside area overlooking the city as the Hyderabad metro chugged in and out of the metro station at a distance.
On the menu was a pure vegetarian spread, though the restaurant serves non-veg dishes as well. We started with the starters that include Kurkure Paneer, Golichina Mushroom, Spring Rolls, Crispy Corn and Hara Bhara Kebab. As the name suggests, the Kurkure Paneer and Golichina Mushroom were fiery for my taste buds, nonetheless, the mushroom was flavoursome. Spring rolls were nicely done and so was the crispy corn. Hara Bhara Kebab was nice too, could have been better. The highlight was Garelu with Tomato chutney. Small crispy, vadas served with a tangy, flavoursome tomato chutney stole the show. It was so good that I actually got a plate packed for home.
For the main course, we had Vankaya Pulao, Muddapappu Pachipulusu with white rice. The Vankaya Pulao was one of the flavoursome ones that I've had off late. This tasted better than the one I had at Pakka Local some time back. The Pachi pulusu was simply superb. Loaded with onions, it was a perfect combo with the white rice. Not to forget the pappu along with ghee and pickle! I'd love to try their other vegetarian main course offering someday.
The weather changed as we moved from one dish to another. On the beverages front, we had Spicy Peru, Panakam, Berry Berry Love and Peach Iced Tea. My personal favourites of the day were Panakam and Berry Berry Love. If you want to try something authentic, go for Panakam, it won't disappoint. Berry Berry love was good because they didn't overdo it. Rest were average, nothing special.
Moving on to the desserts, we had an assortment of Indian desserts, none specific to Telangana. Angoori Ras Malai, Ras Malai, Double ka Meetha, Gajar Ka Halwa and Gulab Jamun. My pick of the dessert was the Ras Malai. Chilled and fluffy, just as it should be. Gajar ka halwa was also good.
Overall, Telangana Spice kitchen has got some good local dishes for you to savour. If you are someone like me who cannot tolerate spicy food, you need to call that out before. The locals don't find the dishes spicy, but I did. Apart from that, the service is good, the spread is decent. A good place for an outing with friends and family. That's about my dining experience.
PS: I visited the restaurant as part of a blogger outreach activity hence the food was on the house. However, this review is honest and based on...

The golichina means deep fried. The chicken or the mutton are marinated in home grounded spices and then deep fried and served hot and crisp. This is one of my favorite here.
Garelu with natu kodi chicken : The garelu are the staple of food of telangana and andhra people. This place serves two types of Garelu.
We had the pappu garelu and the mokkajonna garelu which are served along with the natu kodi curry which is a wonderful combo. And this is one of the house special.
And a must try for anyone
Korameenu roast (fish) : Korameenu is a type of fish which is one of the favorite of telanagana people and this fish is stir fried with the spices of telangana which is soft inside and crisp outside.

Pulihora with country chicken : Have you guys ever tried pulihora with chicken? No then you have to try this over here. The pulihora has a tangy flavor of tamarind and the country chicken adds up spice to it.
Bhagara with mutton dalcha : The mutton dalcha is one of the best thing I ever had. The bhagara rice with mutton dalcha is a must try over here.
Muddapappu pachi pulusu with white rice : The plain rice is served with muddapappu and pachi pulusu which gives it a sour taste and makes it tastier.
Kheema biryani : The kheema biryani is mutton biryani which has the mutton in the form of kheema and gives it a telangana touch.
Desserts :
Kaddu kheer
Qubani ka meetha with ice cream
Carrot halwa
Among the desserts we liked the kaddu kheer and the carrot halwa very much.
Mocktails :
Kobbari bondam with honey
Tsk iced tea
Virgin mojito (achar and normal)
Among the mocktails the TSK iced tea is the house special and we liked it very much. The kobbari bondam with honey is one different thing which you can find only at TSK
Cocktails :
Pankam (gin)
Chatpata chaska (vodka)
This place serves the mocktails and cocktails by giving them some telangana spices touch. Which gives it a classic touch and makes them intresting. Pankam is a mix of Gin with some spices. Vodka was also mixed with some spices and making it chat-pat.
Staff and service -
The staff over here is very friendly and good. The service...
