I’ve been to Lal Street 3-4 times before, and it was always a great experience. However, my recent visit was extremely disappointing and has left me no choice but to rate it 1 star.
I visited during what should have been the happy hours with my friends. We ordered a lot, expecting the usual 50% discount on food and drinks. But to our surprise, the staff informed us that there were no happy hours available - except for a beer bucket, which we didn’t prefer. This was shocking, as the happy hour food menu was the main reason I frequented Lal Street.
Feeling suspicious, I asked a friend to call and confirm whether the 50% happy hour menu was still in place. To my frustration, they confirmed it was. When I called myself, the staff initially admitted to having happy hours, but after I raised the issue, they changed their story again, claiming there were none. This back-and-forth was absurd and felt like a blatant scam.
At the time of billing, we had to pay the full amount, even though the happy hour timings (which were until 6:45 PM) were well within our visit. The dishonesty and inconsistency from the staff were shocking. It felt like an intentional trick to exploit customers, especially since we were just a small group of three women.
I’ve always been a genuine customer who appreciated Lal Street, but this incident has completely tarnished my opinion. It costs nothing to treat customers with honesty and respect. If you want to increase profits, come up with better business strategies instead of misleading patrons. The behavior of the staff, from denying happy hours to contradicting themselves repeatedly, was unacceptable.
I will never visit Lal Street again, and I sincerely hope the management addresses this kind of practice, especially by the waiters, before losing more...
Read moreWe recently visited to celebrate one of our colleagues birthday with high hopes for a pleasant evening, but unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired and I felt compelled to share my disappointment in this review.
Firstly, the service was extremely slow, resulting in a significant delay in receiving our food. The wait was unreasonably long, leaving us feeling frustrated and hungry. It's disheartening when a venue fails to prioritize timely service, especially when customers are eagerly awaiting their meals and pay 9k as cover charges in advance.
Adding to the frustration was the pricing. The menu prices were exorbitant, given the quality and portion sizes of the food. It felt like a blatant attempt to take advantage of customers on Friday evening. Such unreasonable pricing is not only unfair but also damages the overall dining experience.
Furthermore, I was taken aback by the discriminatory policy enforced at the establishment. Men were not allowed on the dance floor, as if they were deemed a threat while the dance floor was almost empty. This kind of gender-based discrimination is not only outdated but also disrespectful. All individuals should have equal opportunities to enjoy themselves and express themselves freely without unnecessary restrictions or biases.
To make matters worse, when we voiced our concerns to the staff, their response was shockingly dismissive. Instead of addressing our grievances and attempting to rectify the situation, we were met with a condescending remark about the pub's supposed longevity and an indifference to our dissatisfaction. This lack of accountability and customer care is highly disappointing and reflects poorly on the establishment.
Therefore, save yourself from the disappointment. THEY DON'T DESERVE...

‘The Lal Street’ is a socially retarded establishment which is being managed by bunch of money-minded hypocrites.
We went-in last night as a 10 member group to celebrate a friend’s birthday. At the entry we had to pay an exorbitant cover charge for all boys in our group who couldn’t pair-up with a girl (as there were more boys and less girls). Once inside, the place was crowded and was playing average music. Food and drinks were expensive, but tasted just about okay, but the portions served didn’t justify the cost. The table-service was pathetic and it took several minutes for food preparation as well (we had to wait ~25-30 minutes each time we ordered something to eat). And worse of all - the dance floor which opened-up at 22:15 only allowed couple entry. So, although we were given entry as a group, we couldn’t enter the dance floor as a group. And when we confronted the manager about not informing us about this discriminatory policy and charging a hefty cover-charge for boys, he was totally indifferent about it. In fact he went as far to say that they didn’t care about our concern, our bad experience, or about us posting negative reviews about the place!
Yes, I made a mistake! By making a wrong choice to visit a place with discriminatory rules, poor customer service, rude staff and unfair trade practices. I would have appreciated had they disclosed upfront that although we are charging a cover charge for boys, we will not be allowing them on the dance floor, irrespective of whether you are going in as a group or solo. But they didn’t !! The Lal Street is minting money because either we are unaware of such rudimentary policies or we support them.
I MADE A MISTAKE, BUT IF YOU HAVEN’T, YOU CAN...
