Food is pretty good but the wait staff is incredibly disorganized. For the buffet there aren’t enough wait staff to support the influx of people walking in and out. At many moments, there is no host to see you to a table. I walked in at 6:45am and restaurant is listed to open at 6:30. There was no one at any of the stations and premade eggs were still cold.
I’ve been here for near 45min and my coffee still has not arrived. I was at the omelette station and a waiter insisted on me going back to my table and he would bring me my omelette. I literally hadn’t even ordered yet and he kept trying to shut me down and tell me to go sit down. I finally said do you even know what I want? He got annoyed and finally said ok what do you want? What? Complete mayhem. Waited at the dosa station until opening. I was first in line with a guy behind me. Cook proceeds to ask the guy behind me what he wanted and completely ignored me. Maybe I’m an Asian female?? Was very insulted. I spoke up and ordered and was polite about it. They told me to go sit down and that my dosa would be delivered to my table. Five minutes later I see some Brit carrying a dosa back to his table. I knew it was mine. Went back to dosa station and they realized they gave it away. They told me we will bring you another one. I go to sit down and another waiter went back to the Brit and brought the dosa to me. I had no idea if the guy had taken a bite sneezed on it touched it whatever. At this point I was so frustrated….and still no coffee.
Would be good if they could get more organized and dedicated a single waiter to me. The first one from the egg stand who asked me what coffee I wanted abandoned me. Double your wait staff. It’s a Saturday high wedding season. Also train your staff to stop prioritizing white people. As a solo female business traveller I was not at all impressed.
I was also here last night for dinner and encountered the same waitstaff issues. Was repeatedly ignored and had to get up multiple times to get what I needed. Manager was very accommodating after that but by then I was 1hr invested into what was supposed to be a leisurely relaxed but...
Read moreFirstly, no one attended us for good 7..9 mins when we stepped inside after made confused by Sanjay singh ji. We were not able to find a clean table. Then some one assisted when we reached out to staff. Ordered salad and other main course and to my surprise salad came last which was supposed to be served first. Someone picked my rice plate without asking and I was not even finished. Why rush..i couldn't understand. Never mind, we ate our food, thanks to subodh he gladly changed my pasta when I mentioned that it is not good. And for next 30..40 mins we were struggling with flies roaming around, on us...on our food. Since no one from staff was standing around us, we showed the same to Sanjay when he came after 20..30 mins. He said lemme call the guy with racket. Again, no one came. Later we showed it to subodh, he gave us 15% discount for the fly in our food. Thanks but no thanks. We insisted on paying what ever the bill is without the discount but he said sorry sir and maam. It was my marriage anniversary ( 10 years completed) wanted to celebrate it peacefully and chose your place out of all other hundreds places in jaipur because perhaps I woke up from the wrong side of the bed today and brought my wife and kid to this unhygienic place !! We walked off without eating anything sweet with incomplete course. Going to a diff place because you successfully managed to piss me off on our special day. Zoom in to see the fly..i have some 10..15 fotos but ..these should...
Read moreDuring my last visit to Jaipur I had stayed in the Jaipur Marriott Hotel. Okra is a 24 hour open restaurant. The ambience of the restaurant was really good.
My review is based on the food I had during buffet dinner, buffet breakfast & some snacks in the daytime.
Buffet Dinner: 1st of all buffet spread is enormous with food options from various cuisines like North Indian, Continental, Italian & Asian. I liked their soups & starters. In the starters, my favorite ones were Veg Dumplings from Chinese cuisine, Papadi Chaat, Raj Kachori & Pani Puri from Indian Chaat sections, & Bruschetta from Italian cuisine. Variety of yummy cheese was also there.
In the Main Course I had gone for Veg Noodles, Veg Fried Rice & Hot Garlic Sauce. The food was yum too.
Buffet Breakfast: Likewise, buffet dinner the breakfast buffet was enormous too with a tradition Chai Cart in the middle of the restaurant. Though I had tasted most of the vegetarian food, but favorite where South Indian cuisine like Dosa, Idly, Onion Uttapum etc. Surprisingly Daal Kachori were not tasty at all! Along with Masala Tea, Mathri was also there, but with too much of the salt! The tea was good.
Snacks: In the snacks I had ordered Bombay Club Sandwich which was served with few tomato slice & Potato wedges. The Sandwich was yummy & very well going with tomato slices.
Overall the food was satisfactory. The...
