Talk about comfort food in Jaipur and I immediately think of The Lama! The best authentic Thai and Chinese food, served in Rajasthan. My best friend introduced me to this place last year in November. Whenever she craves the softest, most stuffed, and most delicious dumplings, this place tops her list. When I had their spicy mushroom dumplings for the first time, I couldn't help but dive into plate(s) full of them! They are by far the best ones I have ever had! We also had green Thai curry and rice on my very first visit. I am not so fond of Thai curries, that is why I couldn't enjoy them as much. But for those who love factual Thai food, for them, this place would be their second home! The ambiance and decor resemble that of mid-Asia such as China, Nepal, and the Himalayas. Beautiful in and out! The seating, fragrance, and crockery are quickly eye-pleasing. The second time I went there with another one of my best friends and I introduced him to my favorite dumplings! We also tried spring rolls and very precise noodles, they were spicy and sweet. I am not very fond of sweets, so I didn't really enjoy them. But those who love a little bit of chili and a bit of sweetness, would absolutely love the dish! The Lama has become my go-to Jaipur restaurant & cafe. I am eagerly waiting to get back to my favorite city and try auxiliary dishes from the menu on the side of my spicy...
Read moreVisited on a Sunday evening and unfortunately, faced a lot waiting time. This was the only disappointing part. The food was awesome and so was the calm ambience. It was crowded but still no chaos, Thanks to the restaurant staff who were very attentive and courteous. We ordered following items and found their flavours exactly as they are mentioned in the menu. The food items are:- Japense miso soup with wakame : It was soup with glassy noodles. Good taste and serving appropriate for 2 people. Spicy Avocado Sushi Roll : the sushi roll Basically had Jasmine rice rolled with Avacado paste in the middle and hint of mustard sauce. I liked it but my family members didn't like the "too much sour avocado" in the middle. 3.Thukpa Bowl : This was the surprise package. It was full of spicy flavours and with light thin gravy and noddles in it. This bowl is an entire meal for a single person. Shikake mushroom wok tossed noodles + Mapo tofu chilli scilian oil Gravy : The noodles were well prepared and the Gravy was decent. As the flavours from soup & thukpa bowl had already started the party for my Pallate :) Belgian Choclate truffle - Classic, mildly heated for molten chocolate feel. Just brilliant to finish a heavy meal.
Thank You to The Chef, The Restaurant Manager and the Captain for taking such...
Read moreI had heard a lot of good things about this place but I had a mediocre experience. Starting off with the good things, Service was incredibly fast given that the restaurant was almost totally occupied when we reached. Staff is prompt and professional but not the most polite or courteous. But they do their job well. Menu is pretty elaborate and reasonably priced (Not too expensive…Not too cheap)
Ambience is basic, nothing extraordinary. Overall vibe was decent. The taste of almost all dishes was underwhelming to say the least. I had gone with real high hopes but the taste of food was below average. We ordered 3 types of Sushis and 2 of them tasted pretty bland. Dimsums were falling apart and werent tasty. The Cottage Cheese Bao that we ordered was quite tasty though. Vietnamese cold brew was terrible.
Overall, if you’re going for the vibe, maybe a one time visit but if you’re really into lip smacking Asian food, probably not the best Jaipur has to offer and...
