This New Shanti Sagar restaurant in Udupi exceeded my expectations with its warm and inviting atmosphere. From the moment I entered, I was greeted with a beautiful and friendly welcome that immediately made me feel comfortable. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly their delightful dessert display, which caught my eye and enticed me with its selection of mouth-watering Udupi desserts. The flavors and presentation were truly remarkable. I decided to try their Schezwan vegetable noodles, and boy, was it a spicy delight! The fiery taste left my taste buds tingling, providing an explosion of flavors that made me feel like I was in culinary heaven. For a refreshing beverage, I opted for their golden shake, which had a unique taste resembling anjeer. I couldn't help but wonder if it was a protein shake, considering its rich and creamy texture.However, the true highlight of my meal was the Gobi Manchurian fry. This delectable snack was a true winner, perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting this restaurant.On the downside, I found the price and taste of their soda lime to be a bit disappointing. It didn't live up to my expectations, and I would suggest checking the menu rates before ordering beverages.Honestly, my experience at Hotel New Shanti Sagar was delightful. With its warm welcome, enticing desserts, and flavorful dishes like the Gobi Manchurian fry, it is definitely a place I would recommend. Just be mindful of the beverage prices and make well-informed choices from the menu.

We were traveling from Chikmagaluru to Mangalore when we thought of stopping for some breakfast. And since we were keen to try traditional South Indian food anyway, this was recommended. There were few people when we entered the restaurant since it was morning. But we were pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant neat and clean. We ordered Rava Masala Dosa, Steamed Idli, Medu Vada, Butter Sada Dosa, and a few cups of Filter Coffee for breakfast. The rava masala dosa was delicious. The texture was the same as in rava dosas. Still, the Masala filling of mashed potatoes made it taste even better. The steamed Idli was something I had never experienced myself. Not only were they tasty, but they were simply melting in the mouth. Perfectly steamed and soft, the taste was like none other. The medu vada was crunchy on the outside yet soft from the inside. Paired with the sambar dip and coconut chutney, it tasted delicious. The best thing about it was there were no marks of being over-fried or burnt, and the oil was fresh. The butter sada dosa, true to its name, had a generous amount of butter on the inside and was paper thin yet soft. The filter coffee was the traditional one found only in south India. Slightly bitter to taste but was strong enough to invigorate you in the morning. And it was perfectly blended and brewed with the milk with precisely the right amount of sugar. The food was delicious, and the service and the ambiance made it perfect.

Even though atmosphere is good but the food especially North Indian which we had was not up to the mark. Jeera rice was very dry and bhatura had steel scrubber in it. If this place clams to be very hygiene then how washing material came into food? Upon showing them they don't even feel sorry. Waiters don't know what to do and don't call manager if I want to complain. Some random person came and claims to be a manger but reacts as if it was not his fault. I had to insist atleast for 10 mins for them to call a manager (I hope atleast he was manager) but he just asks to remove the plate to another waiter. Shanti Sagar is a brand, doesn't matter if it's controlled by one person or group. As a vegetarian we prefer it wherever we go. Please do not spoil the name and maintain cleanliness in kitchen. And especially learn how to talk to your customers. Please avoid this restaurant!

A complete family dining area having a good history as well as reputation offering a wide range variety cuisines from south indian to North Indian including chineese 😋 ... Location - situated in the heart of udupi very much close to krishna mutt nd city centre Malabar gold nd diamond , Geetanjali silks nd R.K. tailors are the other shopping places located in the same place ... So people who want to purchase clothes nd jewels nd to have a perfect dining nd outing can surely visit here Has vallet parking .. The food served is awesome nd bonus to it that the hotel offers a wide range of delicious icecreams , fudges A little bit costly for food items but yess if it's ur friends bdy party nd u want to have a variety thn go for it 😜 It offers pure vegetarian dishes

A great vegetarian option in Udupi. They have a great variety of South Indian as well as north Indian delicacies. The ambience is decent, so is the service. (fast enough to not keep you waiting). Masala Papad was served at an express speed of 4-5 mins :P We ordered mushroom masala and paneer tikka masala along with variety or bread like naan , parotha , roti, etc Food is delicious and quite economical too! The place is not too crowded in the morning, however, post 7.30pm the waiting time can be more than 20-30 minutes. So, plan accordingly for dinner. Atlast we ordered Barry lake ice cream float, chocolate shake, black currant shake, musk melon shake.

Dining place is well spacious. Ambience is family friendly This place is most preferred by locals in and around udupi. They serve delicious meals. (AC Restaurant) Burgers or Italian dishes aren't good here.. If you want to have delicious dishes from this place then Order Masala dosa Pulau Meals (thali) Buns etc. Rice items 1. Mughlai biriyaani Potato, paneer, fried toast, beetroot are loaded all over the biriyaani.. Medium spicy Noodles is really good .. Didn't expect it to be good here, as it is a proper south indian restaurant. All the Indian dishes are really good here so no worries, specially south Indian dishes are very good.
