Arya Bhavan — Restaurant in Kerala

While we did visit Aryabhavan for lunch, it was the Radha Theatre one in SM Street, not the one in the picture.

The meals is a fantastic hot favorite of everyone which is served only inside the A/c hall. However this hall is extremely crowded all days during lunch and so we sat out.

The A/c hall here is one of the dingiest in town and feels very intimidating.... but the lunch makes one blind and brave to these surroundings.

The service is very poor with some of the older waiters being very cold and making the first feel unwelcome if certain dishes were requested to be served more than 2-3 times.

I believe that since it's an SP Meal (Special Meal), all items can be requested any number of times.

For the extra papadams and payasam bowls, we requested and reluctantly served, we were billed extra. Either they should clearly put up a notice saying which item will be billed extra if ordered more than once or they should serve as much as the...

Arya Bhawan(pure vegetarian) is one of the oldest hotels in Kozhikode city. It is situated in the heart of the city and amidst the most crowded shopping place known as SM Street. Radha theatre is close by. The restaurant is a traditional property displaying antique style. It can accommodate a large group. Their food is fine and rates are OK. Masala dosa is the favorite dishes. You can try the meals also. The Aryabhavan restaurant serves good vegetarian food in a town where most of the restaurants are serving mainly non-veg food. The dosas, poori masala, Uthappam, Chappathi or Porotta with kuruma etc are really tasty and fresh. It's a good vegetarian restaurant in the famous SM Street. Just near to the Radha theatre. It's one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Kozhikode, it's a very old place and famous for its food and many people visit this restaurant hence it's always crowded in afternoons. They have a lot of variety food items in their menu from the simple kerala meals to noodles. They also have home made sweets. They also have a hotel for lodging which is a really cheap place to stay, one of the cheapest in Kozhikode, with AC rooms , also with TV.
