Visited 3 times. First 2 times were okay but the third time was an utter disaster. Had kallappam, stew and some paneer dishes when we visited in the beginning. Those were good.
The one who took the order this time was not professional or attentive. He was just learning about many dishes. He suggested Beef Kakkathil for us as a spicy gravy to go along with ghee rice/porotta. The dish tasted like egg roast where egg is replaced with beef and it was not at all hot/spicy. It had too much of onion and was sweet due to that. We ordered chicken chettinad and it had a watery texture and we could not have it at all. It din have any flavour. I have a suggestion to the head chef - please taste what is being cooked in the kitchen. We also ordered ghee rice, chicken kanthari rice, chemmeen paal tawa grill, chicken erimadhuram starter, sulaimani teapot. Chemmeen paal tawa grill is the only item we liked out of all these. Kanthari rice was also okayish. Sulaimani pot tea was brought with 4 teacups and we were a group of 5. These r li'l things that matters when it comes to customer service. We reached by 930pm. We got seated in 10 mins. Gave order in 15 mins. We received food by 10.20pm. We were still having food when the bill came. One waitress came and enquired whether we r paying by card or online. We wanted to pay by card and she came dashing with the POS machine. It was 10.50pm. All of us were still having food and we were not at all happy with this kind of service. We decided to pay through UPI later as we could not go and wash our hands for making that card payment. When we inquired about the closing time, she informed us that it is 10.45pm. I have updated the timings in Google Maps now as it showed 11pm earlier. We also noticed that the main entrance door was closed by 1045pm. All restaurants should update the closing time of their kitchen in maps and not the time when they leave for home. All customers should be treated well even if it's nearing closing time. If staff or management wants to finish off work early, please update your work hour policy and let customers know that when they reach ur premises.
We went to fruit bae after this to forget the bad taste we had from chicken chettinad and the bitter experience from...
Read moreMe and my family was here on Monday, 8th Apr at 6:15 pm to open our fast. The place has a good parking facility. We got our seats inside a POD, which was comfortable. While we were ordering the food , we felt unwelcome by the person who took our order. He was a middle-aged, bald person hailing from Allapuzha. My family wanted something spicy and they were inquiring about various food details and instead of being patient and explaining the same the waiter said -" I don't have time for explaining the dishes, you can look at the menu and order when you are ready ". This was a big turn-off for all of us as it just spoiled the entire mood. To our surprise, when we went, there weren't just us and another family, which meant it wasn't crowded at all for the waiter to behave in such a rude manner. As someone who works with people and a neuro science professional, I could understand that this is his intrinsic behavior and something that he cannot hide for a long time. I am sure there will be other customers who would have felt the same or will feel this uneasiness in the future. The food was delicious, other staff were really kind and courteous. It was really hard to see how Malayalees are rude to another Malayalee. I didn't react or respond bcos it was a special family gathering and I really didn't want to spoil the occasion, but it's important for me to write this review and let everyone know that service, courteous staff and good ambience is the back bone of any hospitality industry and people who don't fit into such professions can really harm your business and impact the brand name just like in this case. The food was good, the other staff was courteous, but the main customer facing person who took the order was absolutely not fit for the job and spoiled the brand image of Hamza's Nadan Grill. This was my first time here and definitely my last simply because of the rude, unprofessional, and...
Read moreWent to Hamza Nadan Grill with high expectations, as the restaurant promotes itself as serving authentic and fusion Kerala and Arabic cuisine. Sadly, the reality was completely opposite. Here’s my honest and detailed experience:
⸻
🧑🍳 Service – Extremely Poor • No one attended to us for a long time after we sat down. We had to call the staff multiple times just to place our order. • Once the order was taken, not even a glass of water was served, and even after requesting several times, no one bothered to refill or respond. • The staff seemed uninterested and unprofessional. When we politely raised our concerns, they completely ignored us, showing no responsibility or customer care.
⸻
🧼 Hygiene – Very Bad • The wash area was in a terrible condition. There was food waste scattered on the floor, and the toilet was dirty, smelly, and not maintained at all. • For a restaurant claiming to offer a good dining experience, basic cleanliness was completely missing. • This kind of unhygienic environment is unacceptable, especially when dealing with food.
⸻
🥤 Food & Pricing Honestly, the quality and taste did not match the price at all. • We didn’t feel the food or drinks offered value for money, especially considering the overall experience.
⸻
😕 Staff Behavior • The staff lacked basic courtesy and training. They didn’t greet, serve, or check in with customers. • Even when we tried to give feedback directly, they simply ignored us without any apology or concern.

❌ Final Verdict
I do not recommend Hamza Nadan Grill to anyone looking for a good dining experience in Kochi. ✔️ The food might look interesting on the menu, but the bad service, unhygienic surroundings, overpriced items, and unfriendly staff ruin the whole visit.
There are plenty of better and cleaner restaurants in Kochi that respect customers and serve with care. This is definitely not...
