Deli KC @ Holiday Inn — Restaurant in Kerala

I used to go here years ago when they were newly opened. They used to offer specialty coffees. Single origins from Columbia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, African producing countries and South East Asian, and of course, Indian.

But sadly all that was before even the idea of Specialty coffee was a concept here. And now they offer just a commercial coffee. Good of course, but not specialty. And I hope they do a rethink, because it’s time for that.

Meanwhile the reason I went today was to have some Ceaser Salad. They offer a delicious one that I loved. And I discovered it’s still rather good.

I have attempted samples of this in other establishments in the city but I personally feel this is the better choice for me. ( caveat: taste is subjective after all, so just because I liked it very much, need not necessarily mean that someone else would do so ) Have uploaded a pic. I liked it with an iced americano 😋☕️ And we also had a pepperoni pizza. Very generous with the cheese. Rather stringy though. But, if you are a sort that likes lots of stringy cheese you may find this appealing. And the service was very good. I used to enjoy going here. I rediscovered that I still do It’s pricey though, at least for me Of course that depends on what we have. The portions are very generous, the quality is good, the ambiance is great, and the service is warm and friendly. Given all that, of course, someone has to spend money to give all these experiences and they’ll want to also make a profit 🌺

Feb 02, 2025 Ordered 2 veg spring rolls and a chicken club sandwich through Swiggy today. Both came fresh and delicious. This was a risky choice, having never made an online purchase from here. The sandwich was HUGE, I’ll try and share a picture. They must be baking very large brown bread loaves especially for sandwiches I guess. One triangle is easily good for one person! The filling was generous and tasty, though a bit bland. Would be nice if they included something as a spice up option. No ketchup either, but that was alright, we have it at home anyway. The spring rolls came nice and crispy and still warm. Not a bit soggy or sad either. It was accompanied by a sweet and spiced flavoured oil, which was nice too. Even the oil was sent in a generous portion.

As already mentioned earlier, these are a bit above my price range, but because I expected more than my money’s worth, I ordered. And I intend to buy again too.

I don’t know if they will be as good next time, no guarantees, but I’ve never had reason to regret yet, so…5 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ again

Feb 2025 (This was a Swiggy Order not at table order ) You do hit these bumps. That’s inevitable 😊 Ordered a Ceaser Salad ( it was nice and delicious and that’s a given anyway ) But the portion was minuscule. Maybe the salad got over and they scraped the bowl to fill my tub ? But then that would not take 40 minutes would it ?

And honey ? With ceaser salad ? That’s a new thing for me. And 3 tubs of it too. I’m getting suspicious!!

And knives (3) spoons (2) and forks (2) …for a salad?? I am convinced someone was flying somewhere at a high altitude while they tossed all that in. Good salad as I mentioned…, enough to satisfy two mice and one squirrel ( if they are not...

We went there for a friends get together. We decided to have some buffet and some special drinks. Dont forget to read my comment on service.

Food was great and good buffet spread. Limited starters but plenty of main dishes, choice of breads were great and Appam etc. Drinks were on an expensive side but given the star status etc, it is fine too.

Ambience is great and plenty of tables and has some partitions for private events.

Service was good initially and deteriorated the moment one celebrity came. (He is not a famous movie actor or anything, just a music director and not the top one). All the staff is trying to help him and his friends. And no one will come near our tables. This is pathetic. We also pay the same rate and probably much more than what they spent that day. This is unacceptable. Celebrity is fine, assigning an exclusive staff etc is fine. But ignoring others and the entire staff trying to help him is totally unacceptable.

Parking was ok.,narrow. But nothing can be done.

Overall, great...

Every food we ordered was taken out since I was admitted to the nearby hospital. Our favorites were the alfredo pasta and chicken burger. Personally, I loved the creamy chicken soup and toast, which were perfect for my limited appetite. The soup really helped me recover quickly. Thank you, Deli KC!

The day before my discharge, my friend bought all the available cakes to give to the hospital staff. The next morning, she was treated to free coffee while waiting for our lunch take-out.

We were truly impressed by the hospitality of the hotel staff, especially the team at Deli KC. They were extremely helpful and attentive to our needs. I will definitely return for my next hospital visit. Thank you...
