Then there are some places, where they restore your peace, rejuvenate you and make you feel loved and pampered! Cocoa Cafe definitely made me feel so, quite unexpectedly though. Anup gives me hope that our own Kochi can also match the best in the world when it comes to service. I had lunch with my family of 4. Really loved the sumptuous food, served in a timely manner where we could savor the different taste of each one. 10 stars to Korean Beef rice, Pasta Arabiatta, Pomegranate chicken, Greek Beef soup, Chicken Teriyaki, French fries, Passion fruit Mojito, Honey Lemon Tea, White Chocolate and special dessert Galaxy ( yummmmy). The ambience is relaxing, the music great and the time thoroughly enjoyed. Sorry for elevating your expectations, but this is how it is. Keep your expectations in the car which you will park outside, and I am sure you will have a good time. Must trys ( as per my son) : Greek beef soup and Pomegranate chicken.

Really nice and quiet atmosphere. The strangest salad i have ever had in my life but it was very good! Sweet, spicy, savory. Beautiful mix of flavors. The chick basil soup came in a giant metal spoon which i liked a lot but i think it made the soup a little cold too fast. Going to get the menu back to order more. The guy at the door did not know much English but he got my order right. Honey glazed steak salad if you’re interested đŸ˜â€ïž Update: dark chocolate hot chocolate
. Soooo nice!!! I only had the idea to add some coffee powder to it to make it a WONDERFUL cafe mocha after I finished it
it was soooo good!!! Wow❀❀❀ (yes i travel with coffee powder because in india sometimes the coffee is just hot water) Updated AGAIN because i came back the next day

Dark hot chocolate was good, beef soup was alright but everything else was a disappointment. The fries with cheese sauce had barely any sauce on them, let alone one with cheese. Order the plain fries if you want fries. The real let-down was the pizza, which was a really bad home-style pizza with packet sauce. The readymade base they use was chewy and we had to send it back to be cooked properly. There were no bell peppers on the pizza, only on the menu. The staff was accommodating but the food is not worth the price at all. The place, which was quiet and empty when we reached around six, also gets loud when it is full. Overall, I think this a place people visit only for chocolate and dates, not to eat.

Cocoa Café: A Great Place to Sit and Mind Your Own Business

⭐ Overall Rating: 4.3/5 Food: ★★★★☆ Ambience: ★★★★☆ Service: ★★★★★ Value for Money: ★★★★☆ Wi-Fi & Amenities: ★★★☆☆

First Impressions

Cocoa CafĂ© became an option for my meeting that day because parking was impossible to find at Starbuck. The prominent signage of the cafĂ© on the Palarivattom to Vytilla bypass is hard to miss. A quick phone call later – I was setting up my laptop to spend the next few hours at Cocoa CafĂ©. Greeting, Setting & Ambience Nestled in a commercial stretch along the Palarivattom Bypass, Cocoa CafĂ© doesn’t scream for attention—and that’s a good thing.

Step inside, and you’re welcomed by warm, earthy accents, lush indoor plants, and a no-frills, comfortable space perfect for meetings, conversations with friends, or some quiet alone time. They also have a small stage that occasionally hosts live music.

A feeling of belonging and warmth washed over me as I walked into the café, greeted by the calm, smiling face of the host.

Food & Drink

I’ve visited this cozy little cafĂ© twice now, and each time left with a very full stomach and a bit of a smile. The food? Delicious. But if you’re expecting textbook European classics, you might want to lower your expectations—or better yet, reframe them.

On my first visit, I had the beef steak with pepper sauce and mashed potatoes. The flavors were spot-on: rich, peppery, comforting. But the steak itself was unevenly cooked—some bites were well done, others leaned more toward medium rare. The sauce, while wonderfully seasoned, didn’t quite hit the consistency I usually enjoy. Still, it worked.

The second time, I tried the spaghetti Bolognese. Once again, it was undeniably tasty—savory, meaty, and satisfying. But as with the steak, it wasn’t a traditional rendition. The textures, proportions, and preparation leaned toward an Indian interpretation rather than an Italian one.

Both times, I washed the meal down with a refreshing lime iced tea, which I’d happily order again.

In short, this cafĂ© doesn’t serve textbook European fare—but it does serve some of the best Indian-style European comfort food I’ve had in a while. And that’s more than enough reason to go back.

Service

And then there’s the service.

The first time I visited, there was one man managing the entire floor. I regret not asking his name—I left in a bit of a rush. But let me tell you, he was a revelation. Efficient, intuitive, and genuinely hospitable, he seemed to anticipate each guest’s needs before they voiced them. That man is a national treasure and should be protected at all costs.

On my second visit, there were a couple more people handling the service. It was still good—polite, prompt, and attentive—but that benchmark the first host set? It’s a high bar.

Price & Practicalities

Both meals cost me about â‚č800, and I consider that fantastic value for the portion size, quality, and experience.

The cafĂ© accepts all forms of payment—cash, UPI, cards. Parking is easy, with plenty of space right in front of the cafĂ©, and there’s always someone around to help you park. The toilets are clean and well maintained.

As for the internet—on one visit, it seemed a bit slow, but it was pouring outside, so the weather may have played a part.

Final Verdict

This isn’t the place for purists. But if you’re looking for comfort food with heart, flavour, and a bit of flair, this cafĂ© hits the spot. Think of it as Indian-European done with soul—and done well.

I’ll be back. It will not be long before I have a fight with my wife and I will storm out of the house without thinking and will end up here for some peace and quiet.

Well done, Cocoa CafĂ© – you guys...

A Heartfelt Return to Our Favorite CafĂ© – Cocoa CafĂ©, Kochi

Some places aren’t just about the food—they're about memories, emotions, and a sense of home. For my husband and me, Cocoa CafĂ© in Kochi is exactly that kind of place. It has always held a special place in our hearts, ever since the day it first opened. We've been regulars from the beginning, and each visit has only deepened our love and appreciation for everything they do.

What sets Cocoa CafĂ© apart isn’t just the amazing dishes, but the care and passion that go into every detail. Whether it's a simple coffee or a complex dessert, they execute it with such precision and warmth. Over the years, we’ve made a number of special requests, and each one was accommodated with genuine attentiveness and a desire to exceed our expectations. It’s rare to find that kind of consistency and personal touch.

After moving to the UK a year and a half ago, we’ve often found ourselves reminiscing about our time at Cocoa Café—especially the unique flavors that simply can't be replicated. So, during our holiday back home in Kochi, one of the first things we knew we had to do was revisit this cherished spot. And let me just say—it was worth every bit of the anticipation.

This time around, we indulged in two desserts: the CrĂšme BrĂ»lĂ©e and their signature Galaxy. And oh my, what a treat! The CrĂšme BrĂ»lĂ©e was pure perfection—smooth, creamy, with that delicate caramelized top that cracked beautifully under the spoon. I usually avoid custard-based desserts, but their CrĂšme BrĂ»lĂ©e has found a permanent spot in my heart (and taste buds)!. It had just the right balance of sweetness and richness, and it’s now a firm favorite of mine.

The Galaxy was equally enchanting—visually stunning and rich in flavor, with a combination of textures and tastes that made every bite a little journey of its own. Even though neither of us was particularly hungry, we simply couldn't resist savoring these treats—and we left more than satisfied. In fact, we were blissfully content.

What’s most remarkable is how Cocoa CafĂ© has managed to maintain its quality, hospitality, and innovation throughout the years. So many places lose their charm over time, but not this one. From the ambience to the menu to the warm interactions with the staff, everything still feels just as special as it did on our very first visit.

If you’re ever in Kochi and looking for a place that feels both cozy and creative, where food is crafted with love and served with pride, we couldn’t recommend Cocoa CafĂ© enough. It’s not just a café—it’s a beautiful experience every...

Perfect Blend of Ambience, Service, and Delicious Food!

I recently visited Cocoa Cafe and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the inviting and cozy ambience. The warm lighting, comfortable seating, and tasteful decor create an atmosphere that is perfect for both intimate gatherings and larger get-togethers.

The service at Cocoa Cafe is truly top-notch. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They went above and beyond to ensure that my friends and I had a delightful experience. It's evident that customer satisfaction is their utmost priority.

Speaking of the menu, the food at Cocoa Cafe is simply fantastic. Each dish we ordered was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. Whether you're a fan of comfort food or prefer more adventurous culinary creations, there is something to satisfy every palate. The ingredients used are fresh, and the attention to detail in the preparation is evident.

Cocoa Cafe has quickly become my go-to spot for meetups and get-togethers with both friends and family. The spacious seating arrangements can accommodate larger groups without compromising comfort or privacy. It's the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy quality time with loved ones.
