This is a review being written right after returning back home after lunch buffet at Kadaloram today at 2pm.
Without any iota of doubt I am straight away giving one star for the restaurant situated at the heart of kochi . I will explain the reasons why below .
We were a family of 5 + a toddler( including two senior citizens). We had come here with food lunch buffet vouchers in hand given to us by Bandhan Bank as a gift. We mention to them well entering the restaurant regarding the vouchers. They acknowledged them and latest to a 5 member sitting area. Before I speak about the bad experience that we had let me talk about the food and the reason for the one star rating for the food.
The meal is a pure Kerala buffet, and not any other cuisine. While this is not a bad thing but please ensure whatever you provide is good and upto the mark. The food is not at all hot or neither being heated during the lunch in spite of having a provision of heating. On asking feedback form this snapped back at me saying they don't provide any forms and neither take any feedbacks.
We had a lunch we provided the feedback of heating and were about to leave at the lift entrance, when one of the staff members (new guy and not the guy we informed at the beginning) approached our dad and asked him for payments. Our dad gladly handed over the voucher letters to the staff member. The moment the staff member looked at it he taunted back at a dad saying "why didn't you tell me earlier". The reason I am using the word taunting his because the weird face expression that he made. When he continude the same attitude I intervened as well, and explained to him nicely that we did mention to the person in the restaurant while entering.
I later complained to the manager Mr.Rajmohan at the reception as well. He immediately apologized for the behaviour on behalf of the staff.
The reason I'm writing a 1star review here is that no matter what the circumstances are, what the background of customers are, whatever accepted ways of payment they are doing, there should be zero discrimination by anyone on customers.
I do understand that the staff member probably did a mistake by printing a bill which was probably not needed, but again that IS NOT a customers fault. I do also empathize with him if you would have told us nicely about his mistake. But at the heat of the moment he try to put that blame on the senior citizen customer and said there are no Feedback forms available .
Hence considered this more as a feedback and improvise. I will never return back to this restaurant even if you provide free meals for my entire lifetime , but kindly empathize with me and treat customers equally.
PS - I am myself a corporate employee having platinum membership in 3 major top-tier hotel brands...
