Pai brothers is a staple name for Dosa Eatery. They have around 36 signature varieties. They have been around for a long time and have been always a popular food joint. I feel that it was after the release of the Malayalam movie 'Salt and Pepper' that a typical food joint hunt resurfaced among Malayalis and Pai Dosa was one of the hot destinations. Pai Dosa is an Eggitarian restaurant. You won't find items with meat or fish but many of their dosa varieties have egg as a main ingredient. Thankfully, if egg is added, it is specifically listed in the name itself.

Even though the restaurant is on a narrow side road of MG road, there are ample parking slots. As most of the orders are take away, there is a high chance you get a seat as well. I think they open late during daytime and stay open late at night(9 am to 1 am). Other than dosas, do not expect anything much, duh. However, the do at times serve puttu, and rasavada, dahivada etc. They also have some sweet options like kesari, laddu and Mysore pa. They offer tea, coffee, lemonade etc. As beverages.

I wish this Pai dosa joint had a better wash area. The lighting and aesthetics also needs to be upped. I have not tried all of their varieties. However, the one I tried last time, Egg Onion Tomato, was nice. I remember Chocolate dosa was a big flop for me. Sambar and the chutneys are also generally ok but the lastbtime I had from here, the Sambar had too much Coriander in it.

I am not a review writer but this experience was so disappointing that i had to send a word out I have travelled places and as a south indian while travelling north u crave dosa after like 8-10 days of travel i personally had some north indian dosa and got what I expected a neutral reaction can eat to satisfy the craving and move on but never in my 9life i even expected that i will be dissatisfied with the south indian dosa and i was stand corrected The setting arraignment is classic south indian style was good open grill kitchen displaying the cleanliness as expected very good The dosa my god a disaster the makers don't know the concept of ratio to the dosa itself and the masala in it the entire dosa was covered in potato vegetable witch made it a soggy lump dosa the cheese they use was the local mozzarella string instead of Amul as it was stringy and had no taste and filled to every edge of dosa making it a sogy dosa pizza with no taste we tried 5 dosa where 2 where masala diffrent kind 1 podi 1 ghee and other 1 with cheese Chutney was an other level of disaster sambar disturbing and for the size of dosa the chutney was utterly less All had the same problem A classic case where we say more of anything make a simple thing in to disaster All in all have great location and potential but something is wrong with the quality control and vision...
