Pizza Hut | Centre Square, Kochi — Restaurant in Kerala

Most people like me choose Pizza Hut over Dominos for a fine dining experience and pay the price difference for that experience. For me, it was a terrible experience at that.

Every single time I had to wait and then call out to a server to attend to our table. To ask a query, I had to call out a waiter and then requested two minutes to place our order but even after 5 minutes nobody came. I had to call out to place my order. Before the order came, he just stacked up the plates and kept them on the table. Basic courtesy is to separate the plates to each person and it isn’t the customers job to do so. There was no fork and knife which I again had to call the server to obtain. Don’t even get me started on the knives. I request someone overseeing the restaurant to take an available knife and try to cut a slice of pizza with it. The symmetry of the knife is off. It’s not a knife used for Pizza. Please make your necessary corrections.

Food was okay. After we were done with our food, we wanted to take the rest to go and for that I had to get up from the table and walk towards the person to attend our table and pack the rest of the food. Nobody was bothered! It’s once again basic courtesy at a fine dining restaurant that a customer does not have to constantly call out to the server to be attended.

The staffing was inadequate and those who were present were all slow, looked sad and lacked motivation. It was the worst experience I’ve had in Pizza Hut.

I usually do not leave such harsh reviews but it was such a frustrating experience and I could not even directly complain because there was nobody who looks capable enough to process my complains and take corrective action. There was no senior present.

I had promised my kids that I would take them to a pizza joint and usually I take them to Dominos, but at 12:50pm on a Saturday, Dominos guy says he is still opening up and he will take another 45 minutes and then another 20 minutes to give me my order whatever it was. So I decided to give 🍕Hut a shot. I liked the place, nice and cosy, they gave me the menu and I sat down with it. Crew were courteous and nice but their interactions didn't have any warmth - as in they don't care except doing their job mechanically. Not that I'm going to hold it against them - after my Dominos experience that day, Never. And if you notice, I have given them a 5 🌟.

We decided to have meal for 2, potato wedges and an additional regular. I'm confused about their sizes though, they had Regular, Medium. Could not find a Large! They served the Garlic bread first and it was soft, and had cheese topping, indeed different from the Dominos. Kids liked it. Potato wedges were served hot too, with sauce and we loved it. Pan pizza was great, and served hot and it was classic. Finally, I don't have to pay in advance and I get everything served to me in plates than in packets. Kids loved it. ( Update: Pepper Paneer pizza sucks, they added some Punjabi masala topping last time, didn't match the flavour? )

And it struck me then why can't Dominos do it? Save some 🌲 trees, and planet green and stuff while they are at it? Sodexo meal pass stickers are there so it must work. My food card worked. ( Payment was tried using PayTM also now, works) Overall it was a...

Tried out the Pizza Hut outlet on the fourth floor at the Centre Square Mall on M.G. Road in Ernakulam, Kerala state, India in August 2021. Only carryouts or deliveries were in operation due to the COVID protocols which were in place in the state. It's a very well laid out fast food pizza option, very spacious and with ample seating arrangements. Normal dine in services have resumed since.

Sajith who assisted me with my order was wonderful being very courteous, respectful, very patient, efficient and resourceful. Ordered a 3-in-1 Chicken Tikka Pan Pizza Combo which also came with two pieces of Garlic bread and a 7 Up soft drink which I chose over other available drink options. The overall service was impeccable. Sajith was very kind even to customize my order as I wished, besides also gave me paper plates and essential cutleries. Wish they could also use additional help. Sajith was the only person running the outlet that particular evening.

I would highly recommend this Pizza Hut branch. Great customer service, great food, efficiency and prompt service would be the key factors to make a first visit. ...
