I ordered a delivery at 8:04 PM, and the estimated delivery time was 8:48 PM. I didn’t mind the long wait since it was Wednesday and there was traffic. However, even after 8:48 PM, the app still showed 8:48 PM as the delivery time, yet the food was not even out for delivery.
I waited 10 minutes, and the app still showed the same thing. So, I called the KFC restaurant at Oberon Mall, but the response I got was that the number was incorrect. Then, I called the number listed on the app and was put in a queue of 15 people. I waited patiently for my turn, and when I finally got through, they told me they had raised a complaint and that the restaurant would call me in 10–15 minutes.
I waited, but still, there was no response. I had ordered for three people, but by this time, the other two had to leave. Meanwhile, the app still showed the delivery time as 8:48 PM. Frustrated, I decided to go to the KFC at Oberon, and just as I was about to reach, my order was finally marked as "out for delivery."
Still, I went inside to ask about the delay. They told me the rider didn’t come. I asked them why they hadn’t updated the app with a new delivery time, why there was no communication, and why the phone number listed for the restaurant was incorrect. They had no response to any of my questions and showed no care at all.
So, I left and went home, only to find the delivery man had just arrived. I asked him what caused the delay, and he told me he had been assigned four orders simultaneously, all at faraway locations, and the restaurant didn’t assign another rider—they just asked him to deliver all of them.

That's a big compliment because I am the sort of person who after being dissatisfied with the KFCs in Kochi, haven't had from Kochi, for a lot many years now. And this outlet was able to subvert my expectations finally! I had opted for a takeaway through swiggy and there was a small delay in the delivery. Forgivable, when the food that was dispatched was too good! Had ordered the KFC onam family feast and the 2 dips bucket and these were more than adequate for a family of five. Common problems with delivery, like soggy fries for instance, were there, but it was understandable as it's not possible to have crisp fries with takeaway. Rest were super good! My favourites as always were the chicken strips, chicken popcorn and the chicken wings. The dips provided complemented the food well, with me wishing the quantity was more. A special mention for the tandoori mayo! And the main reason for this outlet winning me over was due to the quality of chicken and packaging. I guess there has been a big step up with the packaging, across all outlets. But the quality of chicken and taste were significantly better than the times I've had it from other Kochi outlets. Read moreI am a regular customer of KFC in Kerala as well as middle east. 31/12/2021 i had visited the KFC outlet at Oberon. Very very disappointed with the service here. As seen in the picture they have displayed offers on the screen 4+4, 5+5 and 6+6. On the top it's clearly mentioned December special offer. The staff at Oberon is clearly cheating the people coming here. When asked they say we have to book through app. I have mentioned this same to my friend who is the middle east head of Americans which includes KFC. If you have offers on App it should be mentioned. This is the display showed on the menu where people buy and it says December special offer. I request all customers to clear check the rates and offers before ordering as you may get cheated seeing such promotions. Also they refuse to give can Pepsi as parcel and only give glass Pepsi. By the time we get our parcels home the fizz will be gone. And the funny thing is when I asked as seen in the picture they provide cans only for swiggy or Zomato. Such ruthless behaviour and not at all customer friendly... I highly recommend to go to another outlet of KFC rather than falling for their pranks...
