If you're looking for a healthy and delicious breakfast in Kochi, look no further than Gokul Ootttupura. This vegetarian hotel offers a wide range of breakfast options that are sure to please even the pickiest of eaters.
As the old saying goes, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and this place takes that to heart. They offer a variety of healthy options, including dosas, idlies, and other traditional South Indian breakfast foods. And the best part? The taste is just awesome.
If you're a fan of dosas, this is the place to be. They offer a variety of dosas, each with its own unique flavor profile. But if you're looking for a recommendation, I highly suggest trying the Podi Masala Dosa. It's a personal favorite of mine and is sure to leave your taste buds dancing with joy.
While you can certainly take your breakfast to go, I highly recommend dining in. There's just something special about the hot, fresh dosas and idlies coming straight from the kitchen. Trust me, it's much tastier than when you take it home and eat it later.
It's worth noting that this place can get quite crowded during the weekends, so if you want to avoid the crowds, it's best to come early. I suggest arriving around 7:30 in the morning to ensure you get a table and can enjoy your breakfast in peace.
Overall, it is a wonderful vegetarian hotel in Kochi that offers delicious, healthy breakfast options. Whether you're a fan of dosas, idlies, or other traditional South Indian breakfast foods, you're sure to find something you love at Gokul. So next time you're looking for a tasty breakfast spot in Kochi, give...
Read moreWhy ..why..why...was all i asked when i stepped out from the restaurant tonight. Ordered the below: Butter roast : we were served ghee roast masala instead. Had to be returned. Podi masala dosa : burnt taste of the podi which was scarcely spread. The masala was unflavourful and quantifying to 1tbsp. Podi dosa plain: took ages to be served. Chilli paneer dry: lots of onions and hardly any paneer Passionfruit juice : after a lot of confusion from the waiter for confirming the availability, we ordered this only to receive a syrup based "juice" and served warm!!! Upon enquiry, they said they dont have ice!!! The audacity to put forth such a service is unbelievable! Paper roast: the only good thing we had. Saving the worst experience for the last: Sev puri and papdi chat : this is a scam they are running in the name of chaat, which even the supervisor also agreed. They served " papdi chat" without the dahi as sev puri and papdi chat with the dahi....i couldnt believe my eyes and ears when they said this is ootupura sev puri..but where is the puri is the sev puri!!!! Utter scam! Fooling the poor customers as may not understand the difference between the two chaats.
Ootupura is merely running on the hype created. The food is mediocre, service is disorganised and an utter mayhem. Dont even want to address customer service! Mediocrity and passive and non-customer centric service being normalised here. I am shocked to see this outlet even running. Utter shame.
P.S.: cooking staff seriously need some training in chaat and...
Read moreGOKUL’S OOTTUPURA We were travelling from Kochi to Trivandrum and searching for a restaurant to have lunch. We moved from the highway to the service road at Edapally and came across this restaurant by the wayside. What pulled us in was the large parking facility and the large number of cars parked there. There was an additional space next to the restaurant if more cars came in. Restaurant has two halls. As the main hall was full, we were escorted to the next hall that could seat another 30 to 40 people. There was a section for fresh juices. Lot of customers were waiting there for juices or for their takeaway parcels. As the food served was exclusively vegetarian, we settled for Kerala meals and a North Indian thali. Kerala meals were served on banana leaves. Fare was regular-three to four side dishes, pappadam, parippu, sambar, pulisseri, rasam and a small Katori of semiya payasam. Food was okay. North Indian thali was better. It had two chapathis, pulav, paneer masala, dal, gulab jamun etc. Service was quite fast. Cleanliness was also quite good. The bill came. We saw it was a blank paper with Rs 475 written by a pen with no description. Since we were travelling on official work, we needed a bill. The cashier said that there was an error in printing and a reprint was not permitted. It needed intervention of the manager and multiple phone calls before the issue...
