The North Indian Gem in the Heart of South India!
Navratna was, without a doubt, one of the best discoveries of my Kerala trip—an absolute hidden gem. Specializing in North Indian cuisine, the place exceeded all our expectations and left us both amazed and deeply satisfied.
On Day 1, we decided to try their Kerala Special Navratna Dum Biryani, and to our surprise, one portion was more than sufficient for two hearty eaters. Despite the rich flavors and generous use of spices, the dish was incredibly light on the stomach, which made the experience all the more enjoyable. The balance of taste and texture was spot on, leaving us impressed.
Encouraged by our positive first experience, we returned the next day to try their much-talked-about North Indian delicacies. We ordered the classic Butter Chicken, paired with Kerala Parotta, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The flavors of the butter chicken were so authentic and intense that it felt like we had been instantly transported to North India. The taste was simply extraordinary—no words can do justice to the experience.

DON’T GO if you are not sure
DON’T GO if you ever ate good food
DON’T GO whatever your reason.
Parking 🚗 There was no such a thing, just put your vehicle infront. Glad I reached on night and it was not busy. Mostly you might get a parking ticket from police 👮♀️
Ambience 💡 The place was literally empty. While other restaurants are overcrowded at the same time, this was empty.
Cleanliness 🧼 The historic table cloth they used since 70 years never changed, even its torn, but its still there. Other than that its okay I think.
Food 🥘 Remember what I said first? Don’t go? is just for this reason. We ordered a Chicken Hot & Sour Soup, Butter Naan & Butter Chicken Masala.
Soup - Just a mediocre soup overloaded with cabbage i guess or something. It was thick but less tasty.
Butter Naan - It reminded me of Rubber sheet. So thick, rubbery and tasteless (see image)
Butter chicken - Here comes the finale, the rotten chicken which is in black color leaving the fridge for the first time in this month? It was the worst of everything. (see image)
Conclusion: DON’T GO

Ordered Tandoori Chicken Biriyani which was initially priced at ₹250 but it came doubled up which we never requested them to, and the chicken 🍗 in it wasn't cooked completely, it was like eating raw chicken, and they initially tried to convince us saying that that's how tandoori chicken was cooked! I mean come on wth!!! However, finally they said they will replace the chicken, and we asked them to make it a parcel as the food was double the quantity we ordered! And finally when the bill came, it was up to ₹800 !!! Where for the packing charge they took ₹40 and for the tandoori chicken biriyani they took it for two persons which wasn't even what we asked for, Concluding this was a total mess and we didn't say further more and paid the bill and went out!
This will be the last time we will be going to this hotel! Please value your customers don't think...
