Rappai's Fast Food — Restaurant in Kerala

RAPPAI'S THATTUKADA, PALARIVATTOM, KOCHI.

Located opposite to the palavittom stop, is a food joint named, after an invincible glutton named "Rappai".

I walked upto the counter and enquired about the availablity. The frail cashier said "though the porottas are ready, the chicken fry( marinade) is yet to arrive. " It was quarter to 5 and waited for half an hour till the chicken arrived. Waited another 15 minutes for the chicken to be fried.

This time i pestered them for more podi( as always) and the chicken gravy was yummilicious.

The porottas were flaky, paper soft and were served pronto. They have stacked up a plenty.

Fortunately, my second piece of chicken was drumstick.

At the end, the owner who was at the other counter , enquired " did you really, enjoy it?".

I abruptly " certainly! It was soft but crunchy. The chicken fry would have been meaningless had there been no podi".

The owner, who was packing orders, asked " whrz ur hometown?"

I replied " Pala "

The owner said " I remember during my previous visit, i enjoyed some amazing mutton dishes from an eatery located in kottayam"

Exuding envy, he continued " wish we had a similar one here. How genuine their mutton is. It requires great care and dedication to run a mutton shop cum restaurant like that".

When further customers thronged, the counter, i hurried up ,saying " OK then. It was nice meeting you. The food was nice. I 'll visit again".

Anyways 4 porottas and a plate of chicken fry costs only 140 bucks(...

RAPPAI’S FAST FOOD:

I visited Rappai’s fast food and tried their porotta and chicken fry combo, chicken roast. Unfortunately, this time i had tried their chicken roast for first time which fails to meet my expectation and the taste of food was not up to mark. The chicken fry and porotta tastes good, overall it’s a budget friendly spot.

The service was very basic with proper crowd management. While the general atmosphere of the hotel was okay, the hygiene standards were disappointing. The washing area and a nearby room were in very poor condition, wash room door was without proper handle which makes people to open it hard, making it an unpleasant experience overall.

This location had very good reach and potential, but it needs significant improvements in both food preparation and cleanliness. Overall this place is filled with few pros and cons.

For a budget friendly spot, we can suggest this place. Hoping the management will work on their cons for serving their quality by improving...

Writing to express my disappointment and concern regarding an order placed with your restaurant on 16/02/2025. We had ordered 10 biryanis, and while consuming them, many of us felt that something was off with the taste or quality. However, as hunger took priority, we proceeded to eat the food.

Unfortunately, starting from the early hours of the next morning, most of us experienced severe stomach pain and digestive issues, leading to 4-5 individuals requiring hospital treatment. This has not only caused significant discomfort but also medical expenses and inconvenience.

As customers, we trust your restaurant to provide safe and hygienic food, but this experience has completely shattered our confidence. We expect accountability and assurance that such incidents will not happen again.
