Vegetarians - please go elsewhere. They will rip you off. Rs 168 for vegetarian meals. You are better off going to any other premium veg restaurants in the city of you are a vegetarian. You would get a full blown sadya if you add a few more rupees to it.
The serve decent food, especially the fish items. Their Fish curry meals and veg meals used to be priced differrently. Not anymore. Greed has engulfed them.
I have been frequenting this place since 2019 which at the time was a buffet. I have been a vegetarian for the past 6 months due to health reasons.
And few months back, I had asked for a veg meal and they served me dried fish chutney with it which I ate thinking it was something else. Once I realised and I asked them and they said it was fish. I reported this at the counter and the lady had no manners to apologise or even acknowledge the situation. I decided to let it slide as this was a one off bad experience from the management. If I was a pure vegetarian throughout my life it would have been very offensive. And the fact is that the lady at the counter would still react the same. She doesn't even care.
Today I had a veg meals there. And when the bill came the amount was the same as fish curry meals. It's only a matter of a few rupees change. But when I said that the uninformed change was not so fair because while fish curry meals are expensive you can get a decent veg meal at a much reasonable rate in any other hotel.
It's not about the money It's about the attitude of the lady at the counter. She simply dismissed the comment saying, this is what it is and I don't give a damn about any of your opinion.
'Even if you don't come Tommorow that is not going to affect us in any way' This was the attitude.
I have been deeply offended and is not going to visit there anymore.
This was my go to suggestion place for any friends visiting the city as this is is easily accessible and has good fish options. Not going to suggest it to them anymore.
I haven't had any satisfaction after stepping out that door for the past few visits simply because the person at the counter...
Read moreI visited with my family yesterday. The staff were very pleasant and kind—they made us feel welcome, and they treat you more like family than customers, which is nice in its own way.
However, I felt the service wasn’t very organized. It seemed like the staff were a bit clueless when it came to serving, especially with the Sadhya. They didn’t really follow any proper order or flow while serving, and everything felt a bit all over the place. Everyone was busy, but there didn’t seem to be a system. It gave off a feeling of inexperience rather than a professional restaurant setup.
As for the food—it was okay, but I felt it was overhyped. The Sadhya costs ₹160, but it didn’t feel like a proper Sadhya. There were only a few curries, just slightly more than a regular meal, and the payasam was served in a very small amount.
We also ordered fish fry, which took a long time because they said it was live fish. That’s fine, but the wait was too long, and the fish was definitely overpriced. For four meals and two fish items, our total bill came to over ₹1400, which didn’t feel worth it.
The hall we sat in had fans, but they weren’t enough for the heat. A couple of fans weren’t working, and there wasn’t one in every corner, so it got pretty uncomfortable.
Overall, the only thing I really liked was the attitude of the staff—they were friendly and tried their best. But the food, pricing, and comfort level didn’t...
Read moreThe restaurant, with its long benches and desks, reminds me of an old village eatery. After reading some social media reviews, we decided to visit. It’s quite spacious, with a seating capacity of around 50-60 people. However, it was extremely crowded when we arrived, and we had to wait for about 10 minutes to get a seat.
We ordered the meals with squid thoran, but it turned out to be a bit disappointing for the price. The meals cost ₹160, which is expensive compared to similar options priced between ₹80 and ₹120. It included one thoran, pickle, aviyal, beetroot pachadi, ginger curry, sambar, and parippu. The payasam, unfortunately, was a complete letdown. For ₹160, this didn’t feel worth it. At Mother’s Veg Plaza, for ₹240, you get a delicious meal with three types of payasam and a variety of side dishes that are far better in quality and taste. The squid fry, priced at ₹220, was also disappointing considering the cost.
On the positive side, the restaurant is clean, and the service was good. The wash area and restroom were reasonably clean. However, there is no parking facility for four-wheelers, though two-wheelers can be parked inside.
Overall, this place seems to attract crowds primarily due to...
