I had visited this place with my friend today (10/10/2023). We reached by 2.45 PM and entered the air conditioned section ordered two Lassi (Rs.60 each). The waiter served the Lassis and was expecting us to order something more. When I said we only want Lassi he frowned and walked away.
There were two other people who were almost finishing their food at another table. The moment they left (Before 2.50 PM) this waiter came and turned off the ACs and left. We did not say anything at that moment. Then within a few minutes (Around 2.50 PM) this waiter walked in again and asked us to leave soon because "We want to clean" he said.
At this I was completely shocked and confronted him politely about his behavior. When asked, he said the closing time was 3 PM and said that his boss asked him to switch off the A/C and to ask us to leave soon.
I asked him to call his boss. He walked away with the same arrogance and rudeness. The boss did not come. I again asked another waiter to call their boss. Then a person came who said his name was Gokul. He was completely supportive of his waiter and was saying that he wouldn't do such a thing. I literally showed him my watch and their own wall clock. The time was still barely 3.00 PM. Still he was saying that the waiter wouldn't do such a thing before the closing time. Finally he muttered something like an apology which sounded more like wanting us to just leave somehow.
I used to frequently visit this restaurant and have never faced this kind of insult before. This kind of behavior is not expected from such a reputed restaurant.
Sharma Dhaba has lost two of its frequent customers (I know they wouldn't care).
P.S. I forgot to take a pic of their bill but I have attached a screenshot of the payment that I made. You can see the time was...
Read moreI and my sister visited this place on 10 oct 2017,based on the online reviews. First of all its hard to find the location..not a good place for families to visit in. Aftr spending many rupees for the auto fare we finally managed to locate the place. If we entered d the place ...it was close to 1 pm...only one customer was having lunch there..and the whole place was empty. We ordered aloo and panner paratha..chilli gopi dry..panner butter masala..gulab jamun and lassi.. Parathas didnt had enough salt..gobi chilli was sticky and not fresh(may be a day old)..gulab jamun was burned and not fresh..paneer butter masala was horrific..cant describe the taste.. Finally i questioned the cashier there and he said to pay less (came around 380 ..he asked to pay 320) the staff also look untidy and unhygenic.. My request to the people going with families ..pls avoid this place..as chances of getting food poison is very high..specially if taking childrens.. This is my personal experience and people who want to go their enter at their own risk.. More i want to say about that place but again remembering that terrific experience dont want to...
Read moreIn June, I visited Sharma's Punjabi Dhaba in Trivandrum with my family for dinner. It’s a small, cozy restaurant with a decent crowd, making it a comfortable spot for a casual meal. We ordered garlic naan, palak paneer, gobi manchurian, phulka, fried rice, and soup. The food was okay—not exceptionally impressive, but decent enough to enjoy with family. The garlic naan was soft, and the gobi manchurian was crispy, though overall, the flavors were quite standard and didn’t particularly stand out.
The wait time was a bit longer than we expected, which made the experience a bit less enjoyable. After the main meal, we ordered lemon juice, but the sugar hadn’t dissolved properly, leaving a gritty texture that made it less refreshing. While Sharma's Punjabi Dhaba might not be the best place for North Indian food in Trivandrum, it’s still a fair option for a low-key family outing. The friendly atmosphere and steady crowd make it a comfortable place to dine, but the food quality could be improved for a more...
