I recently visited here with my friend, and our experience was a mixed bag. We ordered the Masala Shawai Mandhi and Egg Fried Rice. While the Egg Fried Rice was enjoyable, the Mandhi was a disappointment. Unfortunately, the Shawai was not palatable, and my friend couldn't even finish his portion.

The service was inconsistent. Our server was friendly and attentive, but when we tried to address a concern with the manager a (middle-aged man), he seemed dismissive and uninterested in listening to our query.

The ambiance was a highlight, with a calming atmosphere and plenty of plants. However, our seating location at the last table in the restaurant proved to be a letdown. We were situated near a sewage area, and to our dismay, a large rat emerged from the vicinity, scurrying around the area while we ate. The rat's presence was only noticeable when it started making noise.

When we brought this to the manager's attention, he was extremely unhelpful and dismissive. His lack of concern for the cleanliness and safety of his customers was appalling.

Overall, our experience was marred by the subpar food, poor customer service, and unacceptable dining conditions. Improved sanitation and pest control measures are essential to ensure a comfortable dining experience...

I recently visited Street Menu on MG Road, drawn by its popular shawarma offerings. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations in several areas.

The shawarma itself was average in taste—not bad, but nothing particularly memorable either. The flavors felt a bit flat, and the portion size was just okay.

The biggest letdown was the service, which was a very bad experience. Staff seemed inattentive and disorganized, which made the overall visit quite frustrating. It took longer than expected to get served, and the lack of professionalism was noticeable.

The ambience was also very average—basic interiors with little attention to comfort or vibe. It didn’t feel particularly inviting or cozy.

On the plus side, the pricing was reasonable, which might appeal to someone looking for a quick, budget-friendly bite.

Overall, unless you're in a rush and nearby, I wouldn't strongly recommend Street Menu, especially considering the poor service and...

Review after multiple visits.

Had their chicken biriyani, hyderabadi chicken biriyani, Chappati/porrota curry and also meals. Also had tea and snacks many times.

To start with the food is average. Be it meals or biriyani. Their "Hyderabadi biriyani" is better than normal biriyani, but its no where near the original hyderabadi biriyani. They should ideally name it "Street house special biriyani" or something.

Meals are Okay only. I got a housefly (eecha) once in their meals(happened few months before). I noticed it after eating half of the meals. I informed the waiter. He was indifferent towards it and said it would have just flew and fell down in that. 🤢.

Service is not good. Writing this after experiencing that 4-5 times. They won't pay attention to the customers most of the time. And its always slow.

Tea and snacks in the evening is good.

Need improvement in service and hygiene

Cost is cheap compared to nearby hotels, thats...

We planned a team lunch and went to Street Menu since it is very close to office. It was around 1 pm, chicken biriyani was over, beef biriyani was not enough to serve 8 of us. So we went for meals, three of is got rice and side dishes, and waited for 10 mins for sambar or fish gravy. We had ordered kunthal, kakka, chicken kondattam, fish fry, dragan chicken, and few more dishes. And they took 30 mins to give 8 plate of rice and side curries. And the special dishes we ordered was delivered when all of us completed our meals. A small ayala fry, two plates of dragon chicken, one plate of kozhuva fry, one plate of kunthal. To be frank, none of them were tasty, and the quantity was too small. When we went to pay the bill, a number of dishes were displayed and served there that the supplyer didnt told us.

I tried the Shawai-Mandi combo, Al Faham, and Porotta. I liked the Shawai, but I preferred it plain as I didn’t like the added masala. The rest of the dishes were just okay but i didn’t like the mandi rice. The restaurant is always crowded at night, offering a wide variety of dishes, though I haven’t had the chance to try them all. There’s additional seating inside, which isn’t visible from the entrance. The attached image shows this inner section, while the main dining area is slightly larger. Also non AC seating is there at the side. The staff were okay, but the service was a bit slow. Parking for two-wheelers is convenient right in front of the restaurant, but finding a spot for a car can be challenging.
