Title: A Disappointing Dining Experience at Chinese factory
Introduction: Recently, I had the unfortunate opportunity to dine at Chinese factory , and I feel compelled to share my experience to warn others. I had high hopes for this establishment based on its reputation and online reviews, but sadly, my visit left me thoroughly disappointed and dissatisfied. Here's a detailed account of my unfortunate dining experience at Chinese factory
Ambience: Upon entering Chinese factory , I was initially impressed by its elegant decor and cozy atmosphere. However, as the evening progressed, it became evident that the ambiance was overshadowed by several significant issues that detracted from the overall dining experience. The lighting was dim to the point of discomfort, making it difficult to read the menu and appreciate the presentation of the dishes. Additionally, the noise level was excessively high, making conversation with my companions almost impossible.
Service: The service at Chinese factory was nothing short of abysmal. Despite having made a reservation well in advance, we were kept waiting for an unreasonable amount of time before being seated. The staff seemed disorganized and overwhelmed, and their lack of attentiveness was evident throughout the entire meal. Our server was inattentive, rarely checking on our table, and forgetting some of our requests. It was an arduous task to get their attention whenever we needed assistance.
Food Quality: Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of the entire dining experience was the quality of the food. The menu promised an array of mouthwatering dishes, but the reality fell far short of expectations. The presentation lacked finesse, with some dishes appearing hastily thrown together. Moreover, the flavors were bland, lacking the complexity and depth one would expect from a restaurant of Chinese factory's purported caliber. The portions were meager, and the ingredients used seemed subpar, further exacerbating the disappointment.
Hygiene and Cleanliness: Maintaining proper hygiene and cleanliness is crucial for any restaurant, but Chinese factory failed in this regard as well. The tables were not adequately cleaned between guests, and I observed multiple stains and crumbs left behind from previous diners. This lack of attention to detail extended to the restrooms as well, which were unclean and neglected.
Value for Money: Considering the exorbitant prices charged by Chinese factory, the overall experience was a woeful mismatch. The quality of the food, coupled with the lackluster service and ambiance, made it difficult to justify the hefty bill we received at the end of the meal. It felt like a gross overcharge for what was essentially an underwhelming dining experience.
Conclusion: In conclusion, my visit to Chinese factory was deeply disappointing and fell far below my expectations. The lack of attention to detail, poor service, subpar food quality, and overall disarray marred what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. I cannot in good conscience recommend Chinese factory based on my firsthand encounter, and I would advise potential diners to explore other options for a more satisfying culinary experience.

Read moreIt is hard to describe this restaurant, but "The Chinese Factory" is very different from the usual joints located in and around Calicut beach. Designed to look like a car workshop from the outside and tastefully decorated with memorabilia from old american diners from the 50's & 60's on the inside, this place is well known for their variations of "Asian Food". For starters, we ordered the "Cottage Cheese Barbecue Pepper" (₹270), "Chilly Teriyaki Squid" (₹350) & the "Nut and Bolt Chicken" (₹ 290) and for the main course we went for the "Burnt Garlic Coriander Chicken Fried Rice" (₹190) and "Burnt Chili Chicken Noodles" (₹190). The service is a little slow but the waiters are quite friendly and I would like to thank them for the great recommendations. The "Chili Teriyaki Squid" totally won me over. The squid did not have that fishy after taste and the teriyaki sauce made it a little tangy. It tasted great on it's own but for those of you who like to down a drink or two, this would make a tasty side. The "Cottage Cheese BBQ" was also quite good with the paneer soaking up all the flavours from the barbecue pepper sauce. It was also slightly charred giving it a great smokey flavour. The "Burnt Garlic Corriander Chicken Fried Rice" was a bit of a miss. No real flavour of garlic but it complimented the "Nut and Bolt Chicken" which had bits of toasted cashews and veggies. "The Burnt Chilli Chicken Noodles" was totally worth the purchase and I would totally recommend this being part of your order. Before we decided to call it a day, we also ordered their dessert special, "Chinese Factory Tempura Icecream". Covered in a sort of batter and cornflakes, this was deep fried and served with a sweet syrup. It was absolutely divine and can feed 2 people. Great place to spend an evening with friends and family!
P.S. - If you are ordering the "Passion Fruit Mojito", make sure they add a good...
